I would like to expose the hiring process of the Oberoi group of hotels in Delhi , India . A few days ago my friends and I went for an interview for the post of Reservation associate in the Oberoi contact centre ( Address :- 7, Sham Nath Marg, Prema Kunj, Civil Lines, New Delhi, Delhi, 110054) . We were told by our recruiter that there will be 4 - 5 rounds . Upon reaching there some rounds were conducted but some were left . Their HR associate told us that the last round will be conducted soon and " you can leave for the day ". We thought alright , this can happen because The Oberoi is such a big organisation . We waited for more than a week without any confirmation but soon after 10 days we got a call for the last round . We went for the last round , during which the Oberoi staff showcase the worst and hypocrite behaviour that any organisation can have . During the last round they told us " We are not hiring currently , We have no vacancies now, We are basically selecting candidates for the upcoming months . And if we will have any need for your position we might call you , but currently there is no VACANCY . " These were the words from their VICE PRESIDENT Ms. PRATIBHA SETH. Are you Joking or fooling the candidates?? You are not only wasting candidates money but their time is very well got into vain . Because you told us to wait to the last round and we waited for 10 days . You should've told us that you have no vacancies now then we wouldn't even come for the 1st round . A No means No and a Yes means Yes . It is quite simple . No arithmetical calculations required. The Oberoi group of hotels is completely playing with candidates time , money and emotions . Because of such nonsense the hospitality industry is infamous . I would like that Mr. Vikramjit singh oberoi should look into this matter. Make the hiring process more transparent. You are running a nearly century old organization . #hospitalityindustry #hotels #oberoi #expose #hiring #process

In Hyderabad, some famous biryani places like Shadab, Mehfil, Niagara, and Lucky Restaurant have succeeded by sticking to what they do best. Instead of opening new outlets everywhere, they focus on keeping their current spots authentic and high-quality. Here’s why their approach works: 1. Staying Authentic: They stick to their traditional recipes and methods, which keeps customers coming back for the genuine taste they love. 2. Consistent Quality: By focusing on their existing locations, they ensure every dish is top-notch, which builds trust and loyalty. 3. Strong Brand: They keep their brand experience consistent, which helps maintain a strong reputation. 4. Customer Focus: They know their customers’ preferences and make sure to deliver the same great experience every time. Their success shows that sometimes, sticking to your strengths and focusing on quality can be more effective than expanding too quickly. PS: As a big fan of Hyderabadi biryani, I’m just thrilled they’re not cluttering the city with more outlets That being said I am open to Product manager & Brand strategist Internship Roles. #BrandStrategy #ProductManagement #HyderabadiBiryani

**Finding Creativity Beyond the Corporate Grind: My Hostel Experience in Goa** During my recent solo trip to Goa, I chose to stay in a hostel—not just for affordability, but for the opportunity to network and meet new people. Each day brought fresh faces, many of whom were attending an event called Kyoorius, a hub for creatives, artists, and designers. It was inspiring to witness a different kind of work culture. Among these vibrant individuals, I met an incredible photographer. While her day job didn’t bring her satisfaction, she found a way to nurture her passion outside of work. She had started an Instagram page dedicated to showcasing her talent, capturing the essence of hidden cafes and local gems. This creative outlet allowed her to escape the routine of her corporate life and embrace her artistic spirit. Her story resonated deeply with me. It raised a crucial question: What are we doing after work? Are we engaging in activities that ignite our passions and set the foundation for a life beyond the corporate grind? As professionals, it’s essential to cultivate our interests and creativity, whether through side projects, hobbies, or networking with like-minded individuals. This not only enhances our personal satisfaction but also prepares us for a more fulfilling career journey. Let’s encourage each other to explore our passions outside of work and build a life that reflects our true selves. #Creativity #CareerDevelopment #WorkLifeBalance #Networking #PassionProjects #Goa #Inspiration

I had an interview scheduled with Kamaxi Overseas Consultants for Virgin Cruises for the Bartender position, but one day before the interview, something happened that changed my life. COVID happened... Before the pandemic turned the world upside down, I had accumulated 6 years of bartending experience, with 5 incredible years in Mumbai and an 8-month contract with MSC Cruises. As a Bar Helper, I had the unique opportunity to visit 10 countries while gaining invaluable experiences and honing my skills in a dynamic, multicultural environment. However, just as I was preparing to take the next step in my career with Virgin Cruises, the world came to a standstill. The lockdown began, and my interview was canceled. It was a moment of uncertainty and disappointment, but it also became a turning point in my life. Instead of dwelling on what could have been, I decided to pivot. I channeled my passion and creativity into starting my own clothing line, MOSAJC. What began as a response to an unexpected challenge has grown into a thriving venture. Through hard work and determination, MOSAJC has become a testament to resilience and adaptability. Today, I am proud of the journey I have undertaken—from the vibrant bars of Mumbai to the decks of MSC Cruises, and now, as an entrepreneur in the fashion industry. The challenges of the past have only strengthened my resolve and commitment to excellence. To all those facing uncertainty, remember that every setback is a setup for a comeback. Embrace the change, adapt, and keep moving forward. #Resilience #Entrepreneurship #Bartending #Fashion #MOSAJC #COVID19 #CareerJourney #Adaptability #Motivation #Inspiration

Hospitality possesses its own rare skill set. To be in hospitality, one first needs to want to make people happy; it is a mindset first and skill second. While embodying genuine hospitality may be a natural trait, here are some key points to keep in mind when hiring for your hotel: 🌟 Gut Instinct: Trust your intuition when interviewing. Sometimes, a person's energy speaks louder than their resume. 🤝 Past Experiences: Look for candidates who have a history of going above and beyond for customers, even in non-hospitality roles. 💬 Effective Communication: Ensure they can listen to and understand customers' needs and respond appropriately. 🌐 Cultural Fit: It's essential they align with your brand's values and culture. Remember, true hospitality comes from the heart. Hire those who naturally radiate warmth and kindness. #HospitalityMatters #HiringTips #ThursdayThought #Quote #Hiring #Hotels #HotelIndustry #Tips

Hiring the right people is crucial for any business, but it's especially important for a boutique hotel, where every team member plays a key role in creating a unique guest experience. This week,I conducted interviews for my first client, a boutique hotel in Diani Beach. Here’s how I approached interviews to ensure we bring in the right talent: 1. Putting the Guest First. I dug into candidates’ customer service experiences, asking how they’ve handled tricky situations and gone above and beyond to make guests feel special. At a boutique hotel, every interaction counts. 2. Fitting into the Culture. A boutique hotel often has a close-knit team. I asked questions that help me understand if the candidate shares the same values and can work well with others in a small, collaborative environment. 3. Wearing Many Hats. In smaller hotels, flexibility is key. I looked for people who are not just okay with taking on different roles but are excited by the variety. Whether it’s helping at the front desk or stepping in with guest services, adaptability is a must. 4. Sweating the Small Stuff. It’s often the little things that make a stay memorable. I focused on how detail-oriented candidates are, whether they’re meticulous about maintaining the hotel’s charm or ensuring every guest need is met. 5. Thinking on Their Feet. Problems will arise, and in a boutique setting, quick thinking is essential. I asked about times when candidates had to solve issues on the spot, making sure they can handle whatever comes their way. By focusing on these areas, I aim to hire not just great employees, but people who will help create the special, memorable experiences that make a my client's hotel stand out. #BoutiqueHotel #Hiring #HRConsulting
