Why are people submitting resumes that are longer than 2 pages? My rule of thumb is 1 page for junior roles, 2 pages for senior roles. TL;DR is if you're resume is longer than 2 pages, and you're applying for roles in the US, take time and chop that resume down to the relevant points. As a hiring manager, if you're resume is running more than 2 pages, I'm going to reject that application. Why? Your resume is signaling to me that you cannot be succinct in your communication, and that you cannot prioritize what is important/relevant to the role at hand. At the end of the day, it's a red flag and a hard pass by me. I've ALWAYS tailored my resume and cover letter for jobs that I've applied for, as it helps ME ensure there's a fit for what I'm applying for, and I want to provide the clearest signal possible to whomever/whatever is reviewing my application about what I'm offering. End rant ... back to reviewing applications. BTW we're hiring a bunch of roles (https://lnkd.in/eqBh7b4m) ... but make sure your resume is a good fit!
