🚨💰SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY ALERT ‼️ INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION We acknowledge that the wine industry, like many others, suffers from a severe imbalance of diversity and representation. But rather than simply acknowledging this disparity, we are taking action and are committed to being part of a meaningful, long-lasting positive change. It is with great pride and determination we celebrate Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities with the only all-encompassing BIPOC Scholarship in our industry. Through our scholarship program, we will provide aspiring BIPOC students with the opportunity to receive education, training, and mentorship in various aspects of the wine industry. This scholarship program represents our commitment to breaking down barriers and creating pathways of success for BIPOC individuals who aspire to contribute their skills, knowledge, and creativity to the wine industry. We want to empower you to make your mark, to shape the future of wine, and to inspire others who will follow in your footsteps. https://lnkd.in/esbRFSnd #scholarships #businessdevelopment #governmentcontracting #smallbusinesses #businessowners #founders #nonprofits #entrepreneurs #sbe #dbe #mbe #wbe #lbe #mwbe #wosb #edwosb #veteranowned #womanowned #supplierdiversity #minorityowned #wealth #lgbtq #smallbusinessresources #smallbiz #grants #startups #disabledowned #funding

In this month's “Glow and Grow” blog, FCI intern Portia Adney focuses on the meaning behind the phrase "team work makes the dream work." “I cannot imagine doing the work that I do without a team. Granted, there's merit in individual work, but in my opinion, it does not compare to working in solid, well-functioning teams! The balancing act of school studies, work deadlines, teaching initiatives, presiding over a student organization as co-president, and managing my household responsibilities is incredibly difficult and overwhelming to say the least. Without my many incredible team members, there's no way I could be successful doing it all.” Portia values having a well-functioning team that also encourages individual accomplishments: “Understanding the importance of delegation goes a long way. Trusting that the people you work, study, and/or live with have got your back plays a fundamental role in the success of accomplishing big initiatives, goals, and providing a supportive foundation for accountability. And with March being Women's History Month, I am proud to have supported, to be supported by, and to learn from so many incredible women I work with at FCI and our external partners. Their guidance and expertise are invaluable and it's my ambition to hold a torch as bright as theirs." Portia’s reflections serve as a beautiful reminder of the role of teamwork in achieving collective success and fostering inclusivity in the workplace.

A sense of belonging is so critical, especially for young people finding their way in a complex world. I’m proud of SodexoMagic’s ongoing commitment to uplifting communities and prioritizing inclusion. We’re building on these ideas by delving into the topic of belonging on college campuses, using our findings to develop new strategies to help students find the right fit. We uncovered some great examples from campuses around the country, including HBCUs, which often find a way to carefully blend mission and culture. We also gathered ideas for proactively addressing belonging to avoid the sense of isolation students have felt recently. And we outlined ways campuses can work with partners like SodexoMagic to leverage insights and take a data-driven approach to dining and engagement. Learn more about our findings and explore strategies for cultivating a sense of belonging for students on your campus by checking out our free whitepaper. https://ow.ly/yHfH50RiBFS #SodexoMagic #Belonging #CollegeSuccess

What a start.. My impressions of the Institute for Developing Across Differences (IDD) Learning Labs and Community week so far: traveling to Groeningen and the first evening program. Last nights expert panel was fantastic. Pondering some of the most critical questions in our diversity, equity and inclusion work today: 🔵 Is doing 'something' in the DEI work better then doing nothing? And when is it not? 🔴 In times of backlash is being creative about doing the work ‘undercover’ risking being potentially deceiving - justified ? Much food for thought resulting from the different views shared as the faculty engaged in a conversation. Some key points that stuck with me: 💡the work is of developmental nature and so from that perspective taking even small steps that lead to the next - as long as we are clear on the big picture ourcome - is worth it - by Milton J. Bennett 💡self reflection that we may be guilty of provoking the backlash ourselves, and 💡an invitation to - whatever we choose to do next - do it inclusively also of voices that might be opposing (as difficult as it is) - by Maja Nenadovic, PhD So good to be back here for the 2nd year. Love to reconnect with Melissa Liles Vincent MERK Maaike Verkuijlen Michaela Carriere Maryam Afnan Ahmad Dora Mołodyńska-Küntzel Nadine Binder, PhD (ACC, CPCC) #Inclusion #Diversity #Learning #Training #Networking #Leadership

Recognize and leverage your bragging rights. As a scholarship Ambassador, I come across various categories of scholarship applicants. Those whose bragging rights are good grades. They are often quick to announce to you how they graduated top of their class. Then, those in the low grades categories who would not so much as talk about their poor academic performance. Interestingly, the second group of people have other strengths which they can leverage for their success. For some, it could be their analytical skills, leadership and coordinating prowess, professional experience, volunteer capacity, research experience. What I often tell the second group of people is that they recognize their other strengths and leverage them for greater good. Rather than focus on their poor academic performance, let your focus be on your other good areas. Focus on what you have. That way, you will be empowered mentally to take the needed steps. #EuniceAkuru #DrEunice #APostGraduateProgramGuide #graduateschool #tipsforsuccess

Culture is not an initiative. Culture is the enabler of all initiatives.’ — Larry Senn I am excited to share my recent experience participating in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event organized by SandMartin Foundation - A CSR Initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged school-going students. This initiative has not only made a positive impact on the lives of these students but has also imparted valuable life lessons I have heard about during my time at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi and that I would like to share with you a few Key Learnings: 1. Empathy and Perspective: Engaging directly with underprivileged students allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face on a daily basis and It reinforced the importance of understanding different life circumstances. 2. Resilience and Determination: Witnessing the resilience of these students in pursuing their education despite adversities was incredibly inspiring. It taught me the power of perseverance and determination in overcoming obstacles. 3. Impact of Collective Action: Being part of a team that came together to make a meaningful impact strengthened the idea that collective action can create significant positive change in our communities. 4. Education as a Catalyst: Seeing how education can empower and uplift individuals reaffirmed my belief in its transformative power. It highlighted the critical role education plays in breaking the cycle of poverty. Thank you SandMartin - Outsourcing Experts for organizing and supporting this impactful CSR event. It has motivated me to continue advocating for equal opportunities and to actively contribute to initiatives that promote education and empowerment. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. #CSR

A sense of belonging can transform a student's learning experience, leading to greater engagement and active participation. To me, belonging means creating a space where a recently immigrated girl can share her culture with classmates, helping them understand her unique speech, dress, mannerisms, and food. It’s about embracing and celebrating each student’s unique story. 🔗Get more insights in our complimentary 'Inclusivity' Checklist: https://bit.ly/42q2UD8
