On Tuesday, May 21, our very own Oscar, Will and Jeremy (pictured) will be forgoing the warmth of their respective beds, parking their cars on the rooftop of Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre, and setting up camp for the night. Why you ask? Because this sleeping situation is all too familiar for about 1 in 85 Australians on any given evening, and we reckon that’s way too many! A fundraising event close to our hearts, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre's annual Car Boot Sleep Out aims to support the homeless community in our Inner West backyard by raising funds for the group's first-response outreach program. With Sydney, and much of the country in the grip of a cost-of-living crisis, their frontline efforts have never been more important. Keen to get involved? You can donate to our YH Sleep Out team at the link below. In return for any donation, we’re shouting a pint at our Newtown Tasting Bar! Simply show your donation confirmation or receipt at the bar to redeem. https://lnkd.in/eYNkpDSX

This is no joke! Did you know that almost half of renters in Kenosha pay more than 30% of their monthly income in rent. Further, last year, 989 people called 211 looking for housing resources (almost double from the year prior). The housing crisis is severely impacting our community. How is this impacting your team and operations? Will you help alleviate the burden? When you make a donation to United Way of Kenosha, you can help fund community initiatives and partners who make housing more accessible for our residents, including the 211 call center. Here is a lesser known tip I give to local governments and nonprofits when they are looking at entering FEMA's Public Assistance program. Document all volunteer labor and donations. Any donated services or materials that take the place of paid work can be used to offset the organization's future non-federal cost share. Let's say a city is running a congregate shelter. The value of all the volunteer labor used to run the shelter, provide services, sort donations, and prepare food can be used to buy down the non-federal cost share. Just make sure you keep detailed records of who volunteered, how long they worked, and what they did. Any donated materials that support the shelter count too. Just keep a list of everything that was donated and used. This could save communities thousands, but jurisdictions often miss this opportunity due to a lack of record keeping. #FEMA

Vulnerable Post… Over the past year, fundraising has been particularly challenging, and understandably so. The team, Steffi, Gemma, and I, work on a voluntary basis, ensuring that every penny raised goes directly towards resources to support those impacted by baby loss. We've seen firsthand the incredible benefits our support provides and we desperately want to continue offering this assistance to those who need it. However, with our current fundraising at a low, we don't foresee being able to provide our resources beyond the next six months. We are reaching out for your help! We need to raise awareness for our mission and gain support in our fundraising efforts. We are working tirelessly, but we can't do this alone. We are asking our community to step in and support us in any way possible. Here are some ways you can help: 1. Share this post with your network to spread the word and reach potential donors and fundraisers. 2. Donate a monetary value via our website. 3. Donate resources from our Amazon list, available through our website, to directly support those affected. 4. Organise a fundraiser to raise funds and help us sustain our services. Any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support. #urgent #helpneeded #babylosscommunity #weneedyou #canyouhelp #fundraisers #donations

HELP HOMELESS STREET ANGELS GET BACK ON THE ROAD 🙏 For years, the Homeless Street Angels have been a lifeline for those experiencing homelessness, providing food, clothing, and support on the streets. Their ford transit van was not just a vehicle—it was hope on wheels, bringing comfort to those in desperate need. ❤️ But now, that hope is parked indefinitely. The van is out of commission, and the streets are colder without the Angels’ vital support. 💔 We Need Your Help 💔 If we can come together as a LinkedIn community, we can get the Angels back on the road where they belong. Whether it’s a donation, a connection to someone who can provide a van, or even spreading this message to your networks—every action matters. 🙏 Let’s show that the power of LinkedIn extends far beyond business, and into the heart of our communities. If you or your company has a ford transit van, or if you know of anyone who can help, please get in touch. Together, we can keep hope alive for those who need it most. #HomelessStreetAngels #CommunitySupport #LinkedInForGood #DonateNow #MakeADifference Shelley Joyce Becky Joyce

Please can you share far and wide? Other details to follow... For Winter 2024, the guys & girls from Central Blues Away Travel will be raising funds/donations for the following causes: 1. The Homeless of Birmingham: we wish to buy/collect as many hats, scarves, gloves, and warm clothing as possible to distribute to the homeless on our streets. 2. Pensioners: To offset the increased heating costs our pensioners will face, we wish to buy/collect as many tinned, non-perishable food items as possible to distribute to the pensioners of Brum. 3. 2024 Christmas Toy Appeal: we will (for the 6th consecutive year) be funding/collecting as many toys (new only) as possible to distribute to all Birmingham Children's hospitals, homes and under privileged families as possible. We can't do this without your support. there will be a network of drop-off points and volunteers to manage pick-ups, confirmed at a later date. For now, we will utilise Charity Footy Cards and individual donations to commence the task of stock piling goods to support the above initiatives. KRO 💙 💙 💙

As #HospiceCareWeek comes to an end, we want to highlight the vital work of our #HospiceShopHeroes 👇 💜 Rowcroft plays a key role in delivering vital end-of-life care to 2,500 patients and their loved ones across South Devon each year. 📈 However, we’re facing increasing financial pressures due to many factors including rising costs, a national drop in charitable giving, low and stagnating government funding, and a growing demand for end-of-life care. 👩⚕️ These challenges underscore the critical need for community support and funding to ensure the continuation of important services. By visiting and donating to our Rowcroft shops, YOU play a crucial role in ensuring we can continue to deliver end-of-life care across your local community. Make a difference: volunteer, shop or donate to a Rowcroft shop today. 👉 https://lnkd.in/euUxtKx4
