Women remain underrepresented in leadership roles within both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. The "Leading Ladies'' initiative was formed to provide a supportive network for high-achieving women leading healthcare nonprofits. Learn about how solidarity among women leaders plays a key part in overcoming both professional and personal challenges they face in the nonprofit sector, and how maintaining these values could drive organizational growth: https://hubs.la/Q02FJlgM0

"Men still out-earn women significantly in leadership roles. President/CEOs and Chief Development Officers? Men make 15% more. Executive Director and Vice Presidents (VPs)? The gap jumps even higher, with men earning over 25% more and 40% more respectively than their female counterparts. " - via Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and author Jenny Love. The full article is below. Start with the data. Know your worth and learn to advocate for yourself. (and men have an important role to play in this too). I welcome some of our men leaders in the sector to comment below on this phenomenen, and how they are empowering and challenging their women staff to self-advocate.

Women are such a big part of every Business Unit.
We proudly sponsored the Dallas Regional Chamber's Women’s Business Conference last week. Themed ‘Embrace Every Era’, the event highlighted the unique experiences of women across industries, life and career stages. Our very own Ammie McAsey (Rabicke), SVP of customer distribution experience, shared how we support women, from our commitment to inclusion and belonging among employees to equitable opportunities for supplier partners to the McKesson Foundation’s charitable initiatives. Are we guardians of cultural heritage or catalysts for artistic innovation? Can we be both? Agree or disagree: The future of arts nonprofits lies in finding a delicate balance between honoring the past and embracing the avant-garde. Share your thoughts! 👇 #ArtsNonprofits #CulturalInnovation

"My experience with the Equity Through Development program has been transformative. As a Black woman in the fundraising field, I’ve often faced unique challenges related to both representation and access to resources. This program created a supportive, empowering space where I felt understood, valued, and connected with other women who share similar experiences. Through the workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities, I’ve gained skills and confidence that have been instrumental in advancing my career. The program didn’t just teach fundraising strategies—it equipped me with tools to navigate the industry with a greater sense of purpose and agency. Being part of a network of Black women who are committed to equity in development has inspired me to lead with intention and resilience. I am truly grateful for Equity Through Development for not only opening doors but for also creating a pathway to lasting, meaningful change in the sector. This program is a beacon of progress and a powerful example of the impact that true equity and support can have." - Mai Abdullah, 2023 Cohort Equity Through Development offers more than skill-building; it offers community, confidence, and a path forward. Through mentorship, workshops, and a network of inspiring peers, women of color like Mai are gaining the tools to thrive and lead in their careers. I want to share a story about my friend Lauren Franco, founder and creative director of [gather]. Lauren is one of those people who doesn’t just juggle responsibilities--she redefines what it means to lead with energy and purpose. Last weekend, while we were stuffing 80+ tote bags for her non-profit's holiday gala, I noticed her seamlessly balancing a million moving parts: editing a video, coordinating with vendors, and planning her 5AM marathon qualifier run. I told her, “Lauren, this is the content people need to see. The behind-the-scenes of a female founder who literally never stops moving.” Fast forward a few days, and she took that advice and turned it into a concept for a video that tells the real story--what building in public as a female founder truly looks like. In just 48 hours, Lauren: 🏃♀️➡️ Qualified for the 2025 NYC Marathon (her 9th race this year!) 🎄 Orchestrated an entire holiday gala for 90+ people 🐻 Led a nonprofit team of volunteers 💌 Created content for their annual report and socials What I love about this is that Lauren’s story shows how leadership in today’s world isn’t just about big wins...it’s about showing up, day in and day out, for the people and communities you serve. This is why I’m passionate about helping female founders harness the power of storytelling on platforms like LinkedIn. By pairing life's moments with strategic storytelling (and yes, AI tools), you can create content at scale that’s not just inspiring but impactful to others. Who are the women in your life quietly building, growing, and lifting others up? Let’s make sure their stories are seen and heard. #FemaleFounder #Storytelling #BuildingInPublic #Leadership #WomenInspiringWomen
Come spend 48 hours with me as a founder / event producer (& runner) as we put on the [gather] gala. 25+ sponsors, 90+ attendees, and 1 incredible event — this past weekend, the [gather] community came together for an unforgettable night of celebration and impact at our annual gala. From heartfelt conversations to inspiring stories, we saw the power of what happens when women gather to uplift, empower, and build something greater than themselves. And a huge thank you to every partner, donor, and guest who made this evening a success. Your support enables [gather] to keep growing, reaching, and creating meaningful change.
