60 years ago, the Civil Rights Act was signed and passed into law. Although long before my time, I celebrate the courage and sacrifice of the civil rights activists who fought for justice and equality. I also recognize that we have a responsibility to continue the work of those brave men and women to advance diversity, equity and inclusion from the bottom to the top in the workplaces, institutions, and our communities - not just for us today but for future generations. #1964CivilRightsAct

As Women’s Month comes to an end, I reflect on the women’s march of 9 August 1956. 20 000 women marched to the Union Buildings in a peaceful protest to fight for equal rights in South Africa. This year, we are celebrating the International Human Rights Day with an enduring theme that bind us as one global family: Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now.  Now the question is: What will you do today?
