🎅 As we prepare to wind down for the festive season, I couldn’t resist sharing this photo of Belle, my recently rescued Dalmatian from Dundee City Council, who has clearly mastered the fine art of “total festive shutdown.” If only we could all switch off this effortlessly! For many, this time of year is about pausing, reflecting, and finding moments of calm amidst the chaos, and I think Belle’s pose has a lesson for us all, relax, but keep your ears ready for action (or snacks). Christmas can be a challenging time for our customers, especially those facing housing issues or vulnerabilities. It’s our job to ensure that, even during the festive season, they feel supported and cared for. Whether it’s through clear communication, streamlined services, or simply showing empathy, the small things we do now can make a big difference. Belle’s approach reminds me of how important it is to create an environment where people, staff and customers alike, feel they can rest easy, knowing support is there when it’s needed. As we break for Christmas, let’s reflect on how we can keep being the steady sofa that others can lean on, figuratively, of course, no Dalmatians were displaced in the making of this post.
