🚜 Waitrose & Partners unveils plans to accelerate nature-friendly farming for British farmers 🚜 Waitrose has announced its commitment to support more than 2,000 of its British farmers to move to nature-friendly farming practices, helping to boost financial resilience of farms in the long-term and combat the effects of climate change. 🌾 This comes in response to an industry-wide need to move to more resilient farming methods and demand from Waitrose customers: 🌎 4 in 10 are worried about the impact that modern farming has on nature and wildlife. As part of their commitment, they have pledged to: → Source UK meat, milk, eggs, fruit and vegetables from farms that use regenerative practices by 2035 → Builds on commitment to reach net zero across Waitrose’s UK farms by 2035, and the entire supply chain by 2050. Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eV8DzCNQ We must support British farmers, they cannot carry the burden alone. We need more initiatives like this, to help them adopt sustainable farming practices. 👨🌾 We hold bi-monthly Farmer Advisory Board meetings to address critical industry issues, provide a forum for discussing opportunities, and engage with the wider supply chain. 🔍 Members can access the full write-up https://lnkd.in/g96CHbdq and get in touch if you'd like to be involved in the next one - 17th July 2024.
