Rethinking the value of experiences over dollar optimization 💡 I had an epiphany recently about our family spending habits: Sometimes, the most valuable moments can't be measured in dollars and cents. 💰➡️❤️ Here's what sparked this realization: • We splurged on an expensive kids' activity - something we'd never do for ourselves. • Watching our girls' pure joy was priceless. 😊 • Our younger daughter unexpectedly developed crucial motor skills. The outcome? A beautiful family experience we couldn't have predicted. Key takeaway: While financial prudence matters, focusing solely on cost optimization can lead to missed opportunities for growth and cherished memories. Now, I'm shifting my perspective: • Viewing expenses through the lens of positive emotions and actions • Embracing the unforeseen benefits of new experiences • Balancing fiscal responsibility with investing in moments that matter Have you ever had an experience that seemed costly at first but proved invaluable? A formula for starting (and sustaining) habits 💪 The other day, I recommended a chapter from Atomic Habits to my 13yo daughter about building lasting habits. James Clear explains that to successfully start a new habit, you should link it to something you already do or happens. His formula: [Behavior] at [Time] in [Location] One habit I’ve done pretty well with is: Do [behavior: 65 pushups] [time: every night before I shower] [location: in my bedroom]. For 2025, I’m excited to build more habits across different areas of my life: - Health: Meditate each morning before I open my laptop at my desk. - Family: Hug my daughters first thing when they get home from school. - Career/Business: Post on LinkedIn every Tuesday and Thursday to engage the community around financial well-being topics. - Personal Finance: Contribute the max to our IRAs every New Year’s Day to maximize compound growth. What about you? What’s an "atomic" habit you’d like to build this year? Starting small can lead to big changes over time. If one of your goals for 2025 is to build better financial habits, I’d love to help! Let’s chat about how Empower Wealth Counseling can support you in achieving your financial well-being. #AtomicHabits #FinancialWellness #PersonalFinance #EmpowerWealthCounseling #GoodHabits #FinancialIndependence #MoneyManagement

🌅 Morning folks! Ever find yourself reflecting on the habits you picked up from your parents and thinking, “I definitely don't want to pass that on to my kids”? Yeah, me too. Growing up, I was a free spirit with little structure. It had its perks, but also led to some chaos. I’m determined to give my kids a different path. Here are a few lessons from my own upbringing that I’m rewriting: ❌ No Financial Guidance: No one taught me about investing. Now, my kids know “investment” isn’t just a big word, but a big deal. ❌ Lack of Faith: Faith was missing in my life. I’ve found it now and it’s a cornerstone for my kids. ❌ No Encouragement for Self-Development: Reading and self-improvement weren’t on the agenda. Today, my kids can quote Jim Rohn and Zig Ziglar like seasoned pros. But it wasn’t all bad. Some lessons from my parents are golden: ✅ Hard Work & Ambition: Thanks, Dad. These values are non-negotiable. ✅ Loyalty & Honesty: Another gem from Dad’s playbook that I’m passing down. What about you? What habits from your upbringing do you want to replicate or toss out? Share your thoughts below! #Parenting #SelfDevelopment #FinancialLiteracy #Faith #HardWork #Values #LinkedInFamily

**I wasn’t there when I should’ve been.** Instead of being by my mother’s bedside, I was stuck at work—trapped by fear, chasing financial goals, and weighed down by a scarcity mindset. That moment taught me something invaluable: I can’t control every twist in life, but I *can* avoid the chaos that comes with living on autopilot. I no longer have to live by default. From that hard lesson, I developed a program to help others like you shift your mindset and transform your reality. Over six months, I’ll walk with you step-by-step to uncover mental blocks and limiting beliefs you might not even see. This journey isn’t just about debt—it’s about freedom, peace, and creating opportunities, regardless of your income or financial situation. Today, with financial security in place, I no longer make sacrifices that matter. As my father ages, I can be present without guilt or fear. **Have you ever felt stuck in a situation like this?** Drop an emoji if this resonates—I'd love to hear your story. #WorkLifeBalance #CareerFreedom #LifeOnYourTerms #BePresent #YourStoryMatters #WeRiseTogether #SupportAndGrow
