Who knew Liquid Death was a $1.4 billion company? As their cans become increasingly ubiquitous at supermarkets, concerts and events, the startup has led a wave of new companies looking to shake up the established beverage market. They've raised $267 million in venture funding, as investors start to consider the established players like Pepsi and Coke as ripe for disruption, a familiar theme applied to an unexpected product. They're not alone, startups like Olipop, Poppi and Lemon Perfect have each raised more than $50 million in VC funding, as consumer tastes shift away from alcohol and soda and toward healthier options. So pour one out and read our full rundown on the beverage startup explosion: https://tcrn.ch/3VuG7EM

Investors show appetite for food startups. New-age food startups selling Pizzas, Bubble teas, Burgers etc., have caught the attention of institutional and angel investors. The change in consumption pattern is leading to faster store roll-outs while 4G infrastructure has helped to scale digital footprints and given brands viable business structures. # Food #Startups#Angel Investors

From start-up to scale-up 🚀 Matr Foods is an outstanding example of how an early-stage start-up can leverage BII's financial support, business development expertise, and general infrastructure to accelerate its entrepreneurial journey.👏 Matr's current customer base comprises several B2B contracts with Danish restaurant chains, including Gasoline Grill and Sticks'n'Sushi, and with the online supermarket nemlig.com. With the recent news of an initial investment from Novo Holdings, the company can take one major leap further in its development, says Christian Brix Tillegreen, Director of Planetary Health at BII. "By attracting this new funding, Matr can execute on its promise of scaling production and expanding to new markets." Reaching this stage so fast wouldn't have been possible without the support of BII, according to Randi Wahlsten, CEO of Matr Foods. "Getting BIIs support through Venture Lab and Venture House enabled us to be where we are today. With BII's support we have gone from a product idea to a successful initial launch and we have build the production and our team up to a place where were are now ready to take on the world – or at least to take on investment to really scale our production." Congratulations on the great news to the whole team at Matr Foods. We can't wait to follow your development in the future.🌱 You can read more about the initial investment here: https://bit.ly/464lpyH Arnoud Klokke Benjamin Hamelmann Julie Riisgaard Cordes Maria Henriques de Jesus Petar Todorov Anders Østerby Mønsted Katrine Villarreal Villumsen Jens Nielsen Bobby Soni Thomas Grotkjær Anders Spohr Jens Termansen, Nikolaj Madsen, Sune Legaard Olsen, Eric Heilig, Katharina Henn, Ivan Horacio Rosano Gazca, Efraín Hernández Morales, Emil Kleis Boll, Tine Møller Vestergaard, Miikka Inkinen, Lucas Oliveira, Andreas Hansen #entrepreneurship #funding #investment #foodtech #scaleup #startup

🌱We are thrilled to introduce you to Amira Khatib, the driving force behind our future food #revolution. Meet Amira, a dynamic VP at Bluestein Ventures, a prominent Chicago-based venture capital firm specializing in early-stage technology startups across various industries, including high-growth consumer brands, proprietary foodtech, next-gen commerce, and value-add digital technology. 💡Fun Fact: Bluestein Ventures has been a catalyst for remarkable companies like Base Culture, Foxtrot, FourKites, Inc., meati™, Mori, New Culture, Ummino, Vive Organic and more! Amira's journey is deeply rooted in the world of food: 👉Hailing from Iowa, she was raised by vegan parents and founded the Iowa Vegfest 👉 Kickstarted her career at a New York City PR agency, Peppercomm 👉 Wore marketing hats at Whole Foods Market and a natural beverage startup, Arteasan Tea 👉 Holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business 👉Experienced pivotal roles at early-stage venture capital firms like Halo Incubator, Listen Ventures and Harlem Capital. At Bluestein Ventures, constant communication with founders is key. In their series of go-to-market strategy workshops, Amira shared their approach to post-investment planning, optimizing resource utilization, employee management, KPI creation, and scorecard tracking to ensure accountability. She emphasized helping founders prioritize tasks for the next three to six months, define necessary milestones for the coming year, and plan towards the next funding round by working backward from series A investor expectations: “What are the things that we need to do in the next three to six months? What kind of milestones we need to hit in the next year? And what do we need to hit to get to our next funding round? And working backwards from there. I think it's always best to think if you're at the seed stage, what do series A investors want to see? How do you kind of work backwards from there?” -Amira Khatib Stay tuned for an in-depth exploration of Amira's inspiring journey in shaping the future of food, her innovative strategies, and the driving thesis behind her personal mission and Bluestein's vision for a sustainable culinary future. 🌎🍽️ https://lnkd.in/g2A9uNFY #climatetech #investors #earthfirst #foodtech #growth #consumerbrands #proprietary #commerce #digitaltech #innovation #technology #sustainability #leadership #entrepreneur #founders #climatechange
