#Agbility Empowering Farmers with Disabilities and Women in Agriculture. Farmers with disabilities face significant obstacles, including limited access to adaptive tools and technologies, societal stigma, and lack of awareness. To address these challenges, a comprehensive approach is necessary, encompassing adaptive equipment, specialized training, and inclusive policies. By promoting awareness and acceptance, we can create a more inclusive agricultural community. Through initiatives like WOFAGRIC and Gold in the Soil Awards, the foundation has empowered women farmers, farmers with disabilities, and women in the agricultural value chain for five years. These programs provide a platform for showcasing talents, skills, and innovations, and offer leadership training, skills development, and mentorship. #Agricissexy #Agbility #Inclusiveagriculture

Women have always played a vital role in the agricultural community in California, but their roles have often been overlooked. This Women’s History Month, CRLA recognizes the significant role that women in agricultural and rural California play in our communities. According to the most recent USDA Census of Agriculture in 2017, women in California today represent 37% of all the producers in the state. Experts claim the rising presence of women in agriculture influences how the industry functions, particularly in the face of challenges such as pandemics and climate change. Research shows that women-led businesses are more likely to operate in a community-minded approach during crises, with women of color in particular supporting access to land and healthy food for all by continuing a long history of creating community-based mutual aid networks. We are proud to support the work of women in agriculture. In 2019, CRLA's farmworker advocacy led to better protections for pregnant workers statewide. Read more here: https://ow.ly/ZrWV50R3viC We thank women for their contributions to our communities across California and beyond. #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInAgriculture

How Children Learned Focus from a Growing Tree – Without Ever Being Told As a parent, I’ve always wondered how to teach the value of focus to children without constantly reminding them. Recently, we spent time observing a tree in our garden, and I shared its story—how it grows steadily, taking in water, sunlight, and nutrients, no matter the season or challenge. The tree never rushes, but it never stops either. Slowly, patiently, it becomes stronger. What amazed me was how the children took this lesson to heart. They didn’t need to be told to focus anymore; they learned by watching the tree. Since then, I’ve noticed a shift in how they approach their own tasks—patiently, with persistence. At Tulips & Daffodils , this is what we aim to achieve through our workshops. We use nature and chemical-free soil practices to help children cultivate patience, focus, and a deeper connection with their environment—lessons that stay with them for life. #NaturalFocus #ParentingThroughNature #LifeLessonsFromNature #ChemicalFreeSoil #GardeningWithKids #TulipsAndDaffodils #SustainableLiving #GardeningWorkshops #EcoFriendlyParenting #PatienceAndPersistence #wedochallenge #wedo Visionary Women Circle WEDO - Women Entrepreneurship Development Organisation

Powerful reflections on how Mexico’s Indigenous women in the state of Oaxaca are navigating the considerable challenges of climate change, water scarcity, and empowerment and equality in a traditionally male-dominated culture. These women stand as examples of resilience – of learning and implementing what it takes to adapt to a changing climate and to recalibrate social norms. This means implementing water management strategies and using water tanks to withstand droughts. This means reverting to ancestral irrigation practices and growing medicinal plants and other crops that are drought-resilient. And this means turning to sustainable farming and moving up the value chain to animal breeding to equip these women with the means to provide for themselves and their families without having to rely on men. Their path to self-sufficiency and to making decisions for their economic futures is boosting gender equality and creating safe places for women. While we know that women are most vulnerable to climate change, the Oaxaca community demonstrates ways of minimizing those vulnerabilities and maximizing opportunities instead. https://lnkd.in/eGATVU3x

Kindness and compassion towards all living things are fundamental hallmarks of a civilized society. These virtues reflect a society’s moral and ethical values, showcasing its commitment to the welfare and dignity of all forms of life. Embracing kindness and compassion not only benefits individual well-being but also fosters a harmonious and progressive community. Firstly, kindness towards others, including animals, plants, and even the environment, underscores a society's respect for life. When people demonstrate compassion, they recognize the intrinsic value of all living beings. This acknowledgment encourages humane treatment and discourages cruelty and exploitation. For instance, policies protecting animal rights and promoting sustainable environmental practices are tangible expressions of societal kindness. Secondly, compassion enhances social cohesion and reduces conflict. A community where people are empathetic and supportive tends to be more united and resilient. Acts of kindness, such as helping those in need or protecting vulnerable species, create bonds and a sense of collective responsibility. This interconnectedness is crucial for overcoming social challenges and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Furthermore, a compassionate society tends to be more innovative and forward-thinking. By prioritizing the well-being of all living things, such societies are more likely to invest in sustainable technologies and practices that ensure long-term health for the planet and its inhabitants. This forward-thinking approach not only addresses immediate concerns but also prepares future generations to live in a world that is balanced and thriving. Additionally, the practice of kindness and compassion contributes to personal growth and fulfillment. Individuals who engage in altruistic behaviors often experience a sense of purpose and satisfaction. This positive feedback loop encourages more compassionate actions, creating a culture of generosity and empathy. These values can be instilled through education and community initiatives, promoting a legacy of kindness that spans generations. In conclusion, the presence of kindness and compassion towards all living things is a definitive indicator of a civilized society. It reflects deep moral principles, strengthens social bonds, encourages sustainable innovation, and enhances personal fulfillment. By prioritizing these values, societies can achieve a harmonious and prosperous existence, ensuring that the dignity and welfare of all forms of life are respected and preserved. "Kindness and compassion towards all living things is a mark of a civilized society." #Compassion #KindnessMatters #CivilizedSociety #BeKind #HumanityFirst
