🌟 Today is #GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity—and we’re asking: will you partner with us to change the foster care experience? Here’s why: 50% of foster homes close within the first year. 1 in 5 former foster youth experience homelessness after turning 18. 20,000 young adults age out of foster care every year. 60% of youth formerly in care live below the poverty line. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our Love Box® and Dare to Dream® programs are building radical community around foster families and the kids in their care—and it’s changing lives every single day. 🎯 This Giving Tuesday, we have two major goals. Our first goal is to gain 25 new monthly donors. Our second goal is to raise $15,000 to further our programming. $15,000 in one day. Organizations like Fostering Hope Foundation provide us an opportunity to reflect on and ask the questions, "What can we do better? How can we create a positive impact on someone else's day? Their life? How can we make someone feel seen?" People in our firm like J. Mike Carroll and Harrison Hunter, CFP®MBA who serve on the Fostering Hope Colorado Springs committee are doing good, positively impacting an organization bigger than themselves, making people's days better, changing LIVES, and helping these children, teens, and foster parents feel seen - all with their involvement with Fostering Hope. Without programs like Fostering Hope, statistics show that of children in the El Paso County Foster System: --> 35% do not graduate or get a GED. --> 52% are employed. --> As many as 50% are experiencing homelessness within their first 2 years out of the system. With children involved in Fostering Hope: --> 100% of program participants graduate or get a GED. --> 85% are employed. --> <7% experience homelessness within their first 2 years after graduating out of the program. Today's annual fundraiser and the stories shared were a reminder of why community is so important, and how this career lends us the opportunity to become involved with and give back to local organizations that are doing GOOD.
