The intersection of digital transformation and sustainability has never been more critical, and with the rapid advancement of AI, this convergence is set to reshape the landscape at an unprecedented pace. I had the privilege of moderating a panel discussion on one of my favorite topics: ‘Driving ESG through sustainable digital transformation’ at the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC)’s inaugural ESG Horizons Conference. It was an honor to share the stage with esteemed panelists, Vinod Narayanan, Country President, AstraZeneca Malaysia, Chris Farrelly , CEO, HANDD Business Solutions, Tsen Yeoh, Director, YTL Construction and Redza I., Director, Redtone Digital. Our discussion spanned diverse topics, including how digital enablement is driving ESG practices in healthcare, construction, identity management, and smart farming. The real-world examples shared by the panelists were particularly inspiring, showcasing how innovation is being applied to achieve tangible sustainability outcomes through digital enablement. We also delved into the challenges of ensuring sustained digital transformation for ESG goals—covering critical areas such as long-term ROI, addressing skill gaps, data access and availability as well as touching on the need to drive responsible AI adoption from the early age.
