UK sports betting preferences and habits: Cricket vs Rugby :) The first thing to note is that both sports (7% each) are among the most bet-on sports in the UK, even though they trail mainstays like football (47%) and horse racing (38%) quite substantially. Even so, rugby union and cricket are easily placed within the top 10 gambling sports in the UK. Among gamblers who are active cricket followers, 21% bet on cricket. Among rugby-following UK gamblers, a similar portion say they bet on rugby (23%)

Sports in Europe: Sport in Europe tends to be highly organized with many sports having professional leagues. The origins of many of the world's most popular sports today lie in the codification of many traditional games, especially in the United Kingdom. However, a paradoxical feature of European sport is the extent to which local, regional and national variations continue to exist, and even in some instances to predominate #european #europe #games #sports #sportsclub #gameshub #sportsnews #news #football #cricket #basketball #baseball #hocky #tennis #infor #information

Cricket – The Sleeping Giant of Global Sports! 💡 **Did you know?** In 2023, the total number of ICC-sanctioned #cricket matches ranges between 400 and 550 per year. But here's the exciting part – this number is predicted to nearly double by 2030, reaching an astounding 700 to 900 matches annually! 📍 **Current Landscape:** - **Full Members**: Only 12 countries have Full Member status in the ICC, granting them the privilege to play Test cricket. - **Associate Members**: There are 96 Associate Members actively promoting and playing the sport, showcasing cricket's expanding global footprint. Some of them will soon become Full Members. 🔥 While #football remains the world's most popular sport by a significant margin, #cricket is undoubtedly the sleeping giant, poised for explosive growth! With more countries embracing cricket and the potential for new markets, the #dream of franchise cricket flourishing globally – similar to the current football structure – is becoming increasingly plausible. Do you think it could happen? Are we witnessing the rise of a new global sports powerhouse? Only time will tell, but the future certainly looks promising for cricket enthusiasts! #CricketGrowth #FutureOfCricket #SportsAnalytics #GlobalSports #Cricket2030 #IPL #CricketStats #analytics powered by Apna Cricket Team.Com Join the conversation and share your thoughts on cricket's bright future! 🌟

#IPL can potentially destroy #Cricket! Cricket thrives on balance, where both #batsmen and #bowlers shine. However, the IPL's recent matches often resemble a nightmare for bowlers, with batsmen dominating and 200+ scores becoming a routine. This imbalance risks dampening interest in bowling, discouraging aspiring cricketers from pursuing it. If things go this way, in the future human bowlers will be replaced by bowling machines used in net practices! With #pitches favoring the batsmen, even #balls used in the game favor them. Experts believe that the #Kookaburra balls exclusively used in the tournament, don't provide necessary help to the bowlers. Calls to switch to Duke balls, which provide better lateral movement, and support the bowlers, have gone unheeded. Everyone cheers on a Six! Another major issue is the IPL's reliance on the #ImpactPlayer rule has inadvertently marginalized all-rounders. Teams now lean heavily on specialized batsmen and bowlers, sidelining the versatile role of all-rounders, which was once integral to team dynamics. Furthermore, the #saturation of cricket due to the IPL's proliferation is a concern that cannot be ignored. The relentless schedule has diluted the novelty and excitement of the sport, potentially leading to viewer fatigue. By the way, do you know, that IPL doesn't pay any #IncomeTax, justified in courts under the banner of promoting #sports! In essence, while the IPL has undeniably transformed cricket, its unchecked trajectory threatens to disrupt the delicate equilibrium that makes the sport so captivating. Stakeholders must address these issues to ensure the long-term sustainability and integrity of the game, but currently, it seems, that only #MoneyMatters!

An admirable aim undermined by a design-by-committee solution. The declared intention to roll out T1 rugby as the non-contact version of rugby in schools is as parochial as it gets. There is already a fast-paced, well-regulated, recognised non-contact version of rugby with national teams, World Cups and its own star players- it is called touch and is managed by the Federation of International Touch - you could even point to Try Tag Rugby as a more union-adjacent version. Instead World Rugby and the RFU with T1 rugby and previously Touch Union are trying to own the non-contact game and claim its players for their own- hence the dissolution of the O2 touch initiative after lockdown that had successfully seen many people take up touch rugby. As a player of both contact rugby union and touch rugby- I think T1 looks a hateful sport and a miserable experience as a competitive game. I'm surprised, and yet not surprised, that the overriding aim of 'get people running around with an oval ball and scoring tries' is being ignored here in the name of ownership and politics.
