Ammar Aziz , Adam Grant, Gurpreet Singh Dhamu I feel we ought to re-calibrate our views on mobile phones as a society and especially for young people (16-25 years old in UK law) but even for some adults, in terms of addiction, harmful content, antisocial behaviour. Eyesight, hearing and finger/thumb joints future health risks are waiting to emerge I fear for this generation. Rant aside, I now have strong opinions that mobile phones should not be accessible or sold to children below school leaving age, (17 - 19 years old in many parts o the world,) as its harm outweigh the benefits. In fact, I would suggest it is more lasting and damaging than many other intoxicants! The harm exposed of little or no e-safety outweighs the risks. Simply press on OK/Agree click to confirm you are old enough to access the content/app is too easy for safeguarding children from abuse and harm. Devices for education work if managed properly, such as tablets and laptops, but mobile/cell phones are too casually used for swiping and abusing the trust of the teacher who permitted you to use it for 'educational purposes'. I was one of the first Principals in Dubai to ban mobile phones in my school back in 2019, pre-pandemic. We were a 'tech' school in terms of permitted devices, which in our context was Google Chromebooks, (other brands and platforms available!) Many at that time disagreed, only now to agree I was correct to take such a firm line. PS this message was not typed on my phone but rather on a laptop!

World Trade Month begins tomorrow - join us in Idaho as we celebrate and recognize the significance of international trade for the U.S. and our local communities! Every day, billions of dollars work of goods and services—to the tune of $85 billion—are traded globally. The cars we drive, the phones we use, the groceries we buy—and the list goes on—circle the world every 24 hours through trade, not to mention digital services and international travel and tourism to the United States which are counted as exports. Trade isn’t simply about the flow of products across borders—trade promotes international cooperation, drives innovation, and builds more resilient businesses and communities.

Play on words, goals set direction and sometimes great results occur that are far different than the initial objectives. If it were not for the goals you would not have these outcomes #goalsetting #acceptance #surprises #journeys
