In partnership with Socius , our social value symposium at UKREiiF uncovered what it truly means to deliver long-term social impact.    Following a keynote from Chris White, former MP and author of the 2012 Social Value Act, we launched into a workshop to share best practices and discuss creative ideas to maximise impact.   Key headlines from the workshop included: ✅ - Keep it accountable - without someone to drive this from the top, the delivery of commitments can slip down the agenda. 💡- Set clear aspirations - ambiguity can lead to distrust in the process. 🤝 - Develop strong partnerships - when local authorities, developers and project teams work together, we know there is a greater chance of success. 📐 - Measure effectively - we must ensure social value measurement tools are stewarded carefully and used effectively to demonstrate meaningful impact. The seventh ChangeNOW conference — the largest event on solutions for the planet — was held last month in Paris from 25 to 27 March. At the conference, Director and Head of the EIB Institute Shiva Dustdar spoke as part of a panel on nurturing an ecosystem of change, following an inspiring keynote address by Daniel Epstein, CEO of the Unreasonable Group. Shiva was joined by Arnaud Mourout, Co-Director of Ashoka Europe; Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet; and Raphaele Leyendecker Fabbri, Managing Director of Techstars Sustainability Paris. The panel was moderated by Nick McGirl, Managing Director and Co-founder of ChangemakerXchange. Some key takeaways from the discussion: 💡 The growth of startup ecosystems has provided more opportunities for change-makers, but it also presents challenges, as entrepreneurs must balance profitability and positive impact. 💡 Collaboration and humility are essential in cultivating ecosystems for change, as they bring together diverse players with different goals and perspectives. 💡 Inclusion is crucial in creating a healthy ecosystem, and the current financial system has failed to provide equal access to funding for women and minority entrepreneurs.
