Our biggest and shortest success story of the year: A major media network has been running our #Qumulo and #Bareos backup plugin in production for some time. Together with Bareos, we set up a comprehensive PoC, which has been highly successful. This is a multi(!)-petabyte environment, and incremental backups now begin within two hours—an enormous improvement from the previous timeframe of weeks. Thanks to our solution, the client now enjoys significant advantages over Qumulo's competitors, which has led to an even stronger commitment to Qumulo. If you need to restore billions of stored objects to an S3 bucket, Commvault has a solution for you. The new release is from the recently-acquired Clumio and is called #Backtrack. The new solution uses S3 versioning to help track backup copies of objects. It also helps you manage those versions to keep them from growing out of control with a GUi-based calendaring system. Backtrack will be available in preview in December and generally available in the first quarter of 2025. Our backup is primarily used for larger clusters, but due to the size of this customer and the bottlenecks that occurred, it was necessary to improve the performance of the plugin. My personal thanks go to Andreas Rogge and his colleagues at Bareos GmbH & Co. KG! Andreas has credits in the improvement and Bareos keep improving the plugin interface. New versions of Bareos and the Yuzuy Qumulo Bareos Plugin will be released for the public shortly.
