For survivors of domestic violence, a safe shelter can be the difference between life and death. That’s why YWCA Clark County’s SafeChoice program is so vital. Every year, we provide safe, confidential shelter and resources to individuals and families who need immediate protection from violence at home. When you give a special year-end gift, you’re helping a survivor find refuge, legal advocacy, and the emotional support they need to rebuild their lives. SafeChoice is a place where survivors can heal. 💜 Will you give a gift today that changes lives? 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gpmJhpjg #SupportSurvivors #EndDomesticViolence #YWCAClarkCounty

Did you know? Our country’s domestic violence programs do far more than provide shelter to survivors. Last year, CAN Coalition partner Ohio Domestic Violence Network's (ODVN) programs helped nearly 100,000 survivors with services ranging from crisis hotlines to legal advocacy. One of the ways ODVN has been supporting the 70 local domestic violence programs in the state is by teaching advocates how to practice trauma-informed care with the survivors they work with, particularly when it comes to concussions and brain injury. As we work to highlight #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth this October, we’re highlighting ODVN, their framework, and why suffering a concussion as a result of domestic violence is more common than you might think. Victim Advocacy is such an important role in Child Advocacy Centers! You can’t have a Child “Advocacy” Center without Victim “Advocates”! Read the blog to learn more.
Child abuse intervention begins when a child receives services at the One Place Child Advocacy Center-but that isn't where it ends. Each family is assigned a victim advocate who supports them from the point of initial contact, throughout the entire process, and they even accompany a victim to court if their case goes to prosecution. To learn more about our victim advocacy services, visit this week's blog: https://lnkd.in/d2zECrJ
