The FPGA market is starting to heat up again. I remember when I started covering Lattice Semiconductor and people asked me why it was an interesting company and platform. Hoping that with all the 🔥people learn more. FPGAs serve many purposes other than testing a soft design after simulation and before hardening. FPGAs improve TTM over ASICs, can be lower power than controllers, and, by definition, are reprogrammable. Adding hardened silicon makes them even more interesting and serve as a best of both worlds solution. Will a spun out Altera flourish? We will see.
