NVIDIA has unveiled Project GROOT, a new technology aimed at teaching humanoid robots by using real-world and simulated data. GROOT is an advanced program designed to understand language, process video, and learn from demonstrations to determine its next move. So, what's the bottom line? ➡️ Simply put, if you demonstrate a task like cooking or playing the drums to it several times, GROOT can learn to replicate that task by itself. It's a significant leap towards robots performing complex activities autonomously. ♻️ Share this to spread the word about the future of robotics.

NVIDIA recently announced something pretty groundbreaking: Project GR00T and a big update to their Isaac Robotics Platform. This is a big one. Picture robots that not only understand and speak your language but also learn from watching your moves. That is the promise of Project GR00T. It feels like we successfully entered a new era of robots. Just last week, I saw a demo of GPT-integrated Humanoid from a Robotics company Figure: https://lnkd.in/detaC8yB. Nvidia also introduced Jetson Thor, a powerhouse of a computer designed specifically for these advanced robots, featuring top-notch AI performance capabilities. Plus, the Isaac platform got a serious boost, including new simulation tools and AI workflows that could dramatically change how robots learn and operate. Imagine having a robot in your life that learns to help with daily tasks just by observing. Cooking, playing, cleaning so on and so forth. Share this to spread the word about the future of robotics.

In the not so distant future 1 billion robots will live and work among us and they won't need centralised GPUs or an Internet connection to operate. All visual, NLP and Audio will be processed locally on neural accelerator or GPU. The biggest breakthroughs of the next 5 years will not be larger LLMs, but rather inference frameworks that let you achieve more with less GPU. For the last 12 months me and my team at YEPIC AI have been building the world's smallest Multimodal video model for generating emotional intelligent interactive Avatars. Before robots live among us, the next logical step is multimodal face to face interaction with AI.
NVIDIA just announced Project GROOT: Humanoid robots that can learn in the real and digital world🤖 “The enabling technologies are coming together for leading roboticists around the world to take giant leaps towards artificial general robotics.” GROOT is a foundational model that takes language, videos, and example demonstrations as inputs so it can emulate human actions like cooking, playing drums, and more. Fascinating💥

The speed of progress in the field of AI atm is insane and now hitting the 'real' world with humanoid robots. Long awaited, but the breakthrough moment for humanoid robots stayed out so far and with that, the broad adoption of robots in everyday's life as well, be it for tasks like caring, serving or cleaning. This might now change and projects like GR00T by NVIDIA paving the path towards large scale use of humanoid robots. Why it matters so much? We see massive deceleration of productivity gains compared to previous decades in the Western world, in particular in Europe. This is accompanied with an aging demographic environment plus insane growth in debt which results in a decline of GDP growth or even negative GDP growth rates like in Germany currently (see my previous post regarding 'the Everything Code'). With rising payments for interest, gains in productivity seem to be the only way out of this dilemma and the only source it can come from, is from an increase in efficiency or rather through technology, first and foremost through AI. Humanoid robots in that sense are a game changer, since they can overtake human tasks, e.g. cooking, leading to more efficiency alongside humans. One core task will be: how can we ensure the security of those robots, so that we're not ending up in an I, Robot science fiction scenario. That's what I try to get my head around and work on. Thanks for sharing Dr. Andre Retterath ✌️

Google DeepMind’s AI System Teaches Robot to Perform Complex Task. Here's what's interesting: These robots have learned from human demonstrations. And they have translated images into action. What you're seeing is two robot arms coordinating and completing tasks that have historically been very difficult for robots to perform, and they're performing them autonomously. This is a breakthrough in robotics, thanks to new AI systems. Really makes you wonder where robotics is going next.

NVIDIA unveils Project GROOT, teaching humanoid robots to navigate both the real and digital realms. 🤖 GROOT learns from videos and example demonstrations, just like we do from YouTube tutorials. It processes these inputs to perform the next move. Similar to how kids learn from watching and listening, you could show it how to high five a couple of times and then it can high five someone on its own. That is the future NVIDIA is building. 🚀 What's your take on this development? Drop your thoughts below! #NVIDIA #Robotics #AIInnovation #ProjectGROOT #AI #Tech #Innovation #TechFun

🤖 NVIDIA just introduced Project GROOT to help humanoid robots learn in the real world. 📚 GROOT learns from things like language, videos, and demonstrations to figure out what to do next. 🔄 So, you can show it how to do something a few times, and then it can do it by itself. 🍳 For example, it could learn how to cook or play the drums. 🚀 Exciting times ahead! In case you missed it.... the robots are coming, literally. NVIDIA has announced Project GROOT. Humanoid robots that can learn in both the real and digital world. You can demonstrate almost anything to it, by observing it will learn to do itself. Play the guitar, mow your lawns or cook dinner. GROOT is a new foundational model takes in demonstrations, language and video. It then produces the next action. Exciting but also somewhat frightening if deployed with any bad intention. What could you see as real world applications for this in the near term? Leave a comment below. https://lnkd.in/g7Xaqtba
