Here comes the last day of our January #nowastechallengewithbrahamot . Help Keep Our Planet Clean: Recycle the Right Way! 🌍♻️ Recycling is one of the most powerful actions we can take to protect the environment, but it’s only effective when done properly! Here’s how you can make a real difference thus in the long run reducing waste : 1. Separate Your Recyclables: I have addressed this severally in one of my contents. Sort your waste into categories like paper, plastic, metal, and glass. Keeping them separate makes it easier for recycling centers to process them correctly. 2. Clean Your Recyclables: Before tossing them in the recycling bin, make sure your items are clean. Rinse containers like bottles, cans, and jars to remove food residue or liquids. Dirty recyclables can contaminate the whole batch, making them harder to process. 3. Don't Overstuff: Oh yeah it is filled yet, Make sure your bins are not overloaded. Overstuffed bins make it harder for materials to be sorted and may cause contamination. 4. Check Local Guidelines: Different areas have different recycling rules. Make sure you’re familiar with what can and cannot be recycled in your vicinity. In case you need clarity on this, you can send a message 😊😊. By taking these simple steps, you help ensure that recyclables can be processed more efficiently, reduce pollution, reduce waste and conserve natural resources. Together, we can build a cleaner, greener future. . #brahamot #allyouneedtoknowwithbrahamot #healthyliving #hsepersonnel #environmentalbiologist #sdggoals #stayhealthy #thoughtleader #randomtalkwithhalimot #nigeriaindiaspora #healthylifestyleenthusiast #healthytips #environmentalhealth #environmenttips #unnigeria #unicefnigeria #healthyliving #hsepersonnel #brahamotglobal #brahamotfanmily

Humans are unique in the natural world because they create waste that nature can't digest. Unlike other species, whose waste products are typically biodegradable and seamlessly reintegrated into the environment, human-made waste often consists of materials that don't break down naturally. Items like plastic, electronic waste, and certain chemicals can persist in the environment for hundreds to thousands of years, causing pollution and harming wildlife. This happens because many of our products are designed for convenience and durability without considering their end-of-life impact. For example, plastic is cheap and versatile, but it doesn't decompose like organic materials. The good news is that we have the power to change this. By adopting sustainable practices such as recycling, composting, and choosing biodegradable materials, we can reduce the amount of indigestible waste we produce. Additionally, supporting innovations in waste management and advocating for policies that promote environmental stewardship can help mitigate the damage we've caused. . . . #EnvironmentalStewardship #SustainableLiving #ReduceWaste #EcoFriendly #BiodegradableMaterials #Recycle #Compost #PlasticPollution #WasteManagement #GreenLiving #ZeroWaste #EcoConscious #SustainabilityMatters #EnvironmentalImpact #WasteReduction #EcoInnovations #ConsciousConsumer #SustainablePractices #ProtectWildlife #NatureFriendly #EndPlasticPollution #GreenChoices #EcoAdvocacy #CircularEconomy #PlanetCare

Last month, Surfrider Foundation Canada announced their newest campaign - Bye Bye Mini Bottles. Embracing reusable amenities is one change that can lead to more widespread adoption of reusable systems. This change also demonstrates how mutually beneficial all reuse systems are, from waste reduction, eliminating plastic pollution, reducing water usage and greenhouse gases, as well as saving businesses money. Many Tofino businesses have made the switch already to reusable systems thanks to The Den Quality Goods & Refillery, who has created the Sustainable and Circular Accommodation Program (SCAP) - offering a simple way for guests to identify accommodations who are committed to sustainable practices. Head here for more information on this campaign - https://lnkd.in/g4ibEm9c #sustainabletourism #tofinobc #zerowaste #reusable

At TimberWay we believe that.. Due to substantial reduction in waste and pollution, sustainable packaging is essential for the environment. Conventional packaging materials, such as plastic, add to the expanding waste problem by frequently ending up in landfills and the ocean, where their long half-lives can ruin ecosystems and cause harm to wildlife. By decreasing waste volume and encouraging resource conservation, sustainable packaging—made of recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable materials—minimizes this impact. It also lessens the need for fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and preserves natural resources. Ultimately, circular economies and a healthier Earth for coming generations are promoted by sustainable packaging. #sustainable #packaging #ecofriendly #gogreen #savenature

From Waste to Resource: Key Takeaways from Australia’s Circular Economy Framework Last week, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water unveiled the Circular Economy Framework, a bold step toward addressing waste and resource challenges. With the aim of doubling the nation’s circularity by 2035, this framework sets a clear roadmap to transform how we produce, consume, and recycle materials. Key highlights of the framework include: - ♻️ Doubling Circularity: A commitment to reduce waste, lift resource productivity by 30%, and safely recover 80% of materials. - 🍎 Reducing Food Waste: Recognising food waste as a critical issue, with over 7.6 million tonnes wasted annually. - 📚 Driving Behavioural Change: Empowering communities and industries through education and collaboration. At Sustainable Solutions Now (SSN), we’re proud to play a role in advancing the circular economy. Reaching these goals requires prioritising Australian-made products and solutions created from non-virgin materials. By supporting local, sustainable manufacturing, we can collectively reduce waste, drive circularity, and strengthen our economy. Our work with councils and businesses has revealed that up to 50% of food organics meant for composting ends up in landfill—largely due to packaging contamination. That’s why we’ve developed the OzEco Bag, a 100% recycled, fully compostable paper liner. Designed for FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) programs, the OzEco Bag: ✅ Supports waste diversion by reducing contamination in composting streams. ✅ Is made locally in Australia, from post-consumer recycled paper, helping to save trees and minimize carbon impact. ✅ The OzEco Bag is currently being trialed with three Victorian councils, ensuring it meets the needs of households, councils, and composting facilities alike. This framework is a call to action for all of us. Let’s champion solutions that align with these ambitions, promote local innovation, and create a circular, sustainable future for Australia. What part of this framework excites you the most?
