Breaking news: We’re thrilled to partner with Curtis Stout, a leading manufacturer's representative and provider of electrical turn-key solutions headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas. Together, we’ll provide schools with proactive, cutting-edge detection capabilities. 🚨And it gets better! We’re working with the Curtis Stout team to deploy our gun detection #solution across Fort Smith Public Schools in Northwest Arkansas. When the district considered adding another layer of security to its #safety plan, Fort Smith Public Schools' deputy superintendent, Martin Mahan, said, "ZeroEyes came out on top for several reasons." "Its ability to overlay our existing security cameras allows our students to have a normal school experience. Not to mention, ZeroEyes has a full-time operations center with human verification and comes at a lower cost than similar solutions." 👉Get the full scoop in a recent article from the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette: https://hubs.ly/Q03241ld0 Wishing everyone a happy Friday! Kim, this article provides valuable insight, yet it overlooks some crucial points. The behavior and lack of discipline in schools nationwide have reached an abysmal state. Many school "Code of Conduct" (CoC) documents are ineffective because they lack enforcement. For instance, a CoC document I recently reviewed stated that only school assaults resulting in serious bodily harm could be referred to law enforcement, allowing schools to evade scrutiny. In Worcester County, Maryland, a public dispute has erupted between law enforcement, the State's Attorney's Office, and the board of education over this very issue. The headline reads: "Worcester's School Safety Crisis: Dispute Between Educators and Law Enforcers." Your article notes a shift from 25 years ago, stating, "You'd see SROs (School Resource Officers) for sure," Pierson said. However, it's worth noting that during the Columbine massacre, there was an SRO on campus who exchanged gunfire with the killers. The article fails to mention the utilization of BIT, BAT, and TAT teams. In the Oxford shooting, the assailant attended a "behavioral meeting" shortly before committing the act. Notably, the principal and the SRO were not present at that meeting. Unfortunately, the removal of God from schools, coupled with the lack of discipline both at school and in homes, as well as the fragile state of society, contributes to escalating violence in our schools. Furthermore, some school administrators privately state they believe, "It can't happen here." The article quotes, "It's difficult to measure if schools are safer today." It is my belief that schools reflect society. Ask yourself, do you feel safer today going for a walk alone, visiting the mall, or attending church? The answer is apparent. Educators emphasize that the culture of safety is built on fostering better relationships in schools, which has a positive impact. However, unless we adopt a mindset of preparedness and reinstate effective classroom management, catastrophic events will persist in our schools.

Here's an update on school safety from after Columbine in Colorado. THey note access control, cameras, id systems, and "panic" buttons (please let's call them duress buttons!), and response training. This is all Preparedness. They do use Safe2Tell- a reporting silo, not a #Community platform. When do we understand that Preparedness is not #Prevention? https://lnkd.in/gmAynE9j

Are "Bulletproof" Claims Misleading Schools About Security Window Film? School safety is a top priority, but recent reports highlight a troubling issue: some security window films marketed to schools don't perform as advertised. This article from the National Criminal Justice Association exposes how certain films fail to stop bullets, despite bold claims from manufacturers. At ARC Film Solutions, we believe in transparency and education when it comes to safety and security. Educating on this topic has always been so important to us. While no window film can truly make glass bulletproof, high-quality security films can play a critical role in delaying forced entry, giving first responders crucial time to act. If you're considering security solutions for your school, business, or home, let’s have an honest conversation about your goals and the right tools for the job. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gvftCStD #WindowFilm #SecuritySolutions #SchoolSafety #Transparency #ARCFilmSolutions
