Title: Sr. Developer - Backend (AWS) Work Location: Canada Mississauga Campus 2-3 days a week Project Duration: 1 year (With possible extension) Description Overview: A formulation is a mixture of different substances prepared in a certain way for therapeutic treatment in animals. A formulation may include active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) combined with inactive ingredients or just a mixture of the inactive ingredients alone (excipient or vehicle buffers). Problem or Unmet Need: Formulations may be captured in gSheets and ELNs, at best, but there is no standardized registration of preclinical formulations existing within pRED/gRED to enable tracking of formulations used within studies. Consequently, data and conclusions (i.e. tox) associated with the use of specific formulations cannot be easily tracked or applied to future research. Expected Value from FRS: Registering formulations in a standardized manner will enable tracking of effects of formulation recipes on animal health, molecule activity and effectiveness, and stability or ideal methods and ingredients. Quality of recorded information will be improved by reducing aliases (difficult to search) and entry errors. A shared platform for the REDs will foster data sharing across this space and help provide information for study planning and decision making. Duties Include: ● Design, develop, and maintain software applications on AWS cloud ● Develop and maintain asynchronous and/or synchronous integrations between systems ● Design and optimize SQLand No-SQL database schemas and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval ● Design and optimize domains in ElasticSearch and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval ● Contribute code to other cloud based services written in languages like Java, Python, etc. ● Collaborate cross-functionally with the team to understand user needs and translate them into user-friendly and aesthetic user interfaces ● Collaborate closely with a team of scientists to build tools that assist in ground-breaking Minimum Qualifications: • 5+ years of software development experience • 5+ years of expertise in AWS solution design and implementation using key AWS services including, but not limited to: o Storage: S3, DynamoDB, RDS, OpenSearch o Security: IAM roles and policies, federated identity, SSO, MFA o Deployment: Terraform, Cloud Formation, Multi-Account deployments, and governance. • Product Expertise: With 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year in software design and architecture, you'll be a key player in our success • Experience in programming languages like Python Java, Javascript, Groovy • Experience in Service Oriented Architecture, microservices, API first design. • Experience in integration technologies (REST, GraphQL, JSON, Messaging, Pub/Sub) • Experience with GIT Version Control Systems and CI/CD pipelines. #Canada #Aws #Cloudsolutionarchitect #Develeoper #Backend

Hiring; Mid or Senior level Java Engineering role – strong focus on Lambda & Microservices - $175k package – Sydney. I have a new Java engineering role with a fintech in Sydney who have an engineering team of about 80. You’d be working in a small product team with 4 other devs, where you’d own everything from dev through to production. What’s really important in this role is AWS experience. About 30% of the work will be in AWS and building microservices with Lambda. Reason being, this team build mission critical APIs for their customers in Java and Springboot and are pretty much the product owners for customer facing APIs in the business. You’d also be working with AWS IAM/ID management, cloud formation and you’d need to be following the correct policies. We need someone who can speak the devops language, so you know what’s going on around you. This helps all the engineers in this tribe because they’re responsible for their own code, in taking it from dev to prod, end to end, all the time. You will be asked in the interview; “Ok – so it says you’ve worked with microservices in your CV – can you tell us what you have built?” “So, what were the components of it then?” “If you wrote the code, can you tell us a story about it? How did u manage it? How did u code the microservice?” So, this is more about ownership and understanding what to do when things break, rather than just maintaining something from the wider team. We do also need someone sharp who is happy to pivot across a few projects. A typical month could look like; working serverless functions on day, then working on an API portal and then after that you might be on confluence streaming and data streaming, as examples.. Id say there’s pretty much no front-end work in this role also. Why join? Well, this is all really good learning opportunity and all the tech is state of the art. All banks and financial institutions use it and you’re exposed to a lot. If you’re looking for a new role in Java & AWS (and you’ve built microservices – not just maintained them), please reach out to me; nick@tekfinder.com.au
