It's the final week of #PAEnergyMonth! We're closing out our month-long look at false solutions in PA with a discussion of the industry behind all of them, the natural gas industry. Whether it's creating a new market for methane, as is the case with LNG exports, Hydrogen and, by extension, CCS since it's what makes gray hydrogen blue, or providing cover for the industry by pretending to address waste, like CCS and Advanced Plastic Recycling (It's ADVANCED so it's GOT to be good, right?), the only ones who benefit from false solutions are the same ones who created the climate crisis in the first place! AND they're the same ones who have created a debate about a ban on fracking vs. more regulations when they are the ones who will fight both. What we really need in PA is a #rapidphaseout so we can ensure a just transition that leaves nobody behind. The phase out is inevitable. The question is whether or not the government will start now so it can manage the transition or continue to do nothing and just let it happen abruptly to everyone.
