IT'S SCARY......NOT COOL. You live in the world of #obl #asc s. You get excited at the thought of a new C-ARM or the cool closure device. But in this space that we live we forget... THIS IS SCARY TO THE PATIENT They see a video like this: big machines, needles, catheters, etc and it doesn't LOOK minimally invasive. It looks intimidating as $%&*. Most patients dont know what an interventional radiologist or a cardiovascular surgeon even is or does. ( heck alot of you are still figuring it out!) They hear the embolization bead and think its something that will travel to their brain and give them a stroke or kill them. So when it comes to marketing, the way our front desk, midlevels, and yes, even at the provider level speak to a patient, WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS. I've consulted with DOZENS of clinics who cannot figure out why the patient they ordered a procedure for never showed up. Yes, it might take some work to get yourself and your staff to speak at the patient level more. BUT IT WILL COST YOU WAY MORE... when qualified patients come in and don't get to procedure because they were scared or intimidated by what they saw, didn't understand, or the way they were spoken to. If you truly want to help more patients and grow your practice, have a friend, a relative, or someone who knows nothing about what you do, come in from marketing to consult, and get their HONEST FEEDBACK...Then listen, change, and grow!!! How many are willing to do this to help more patients? #GAE #PAE #PFE #UFE #Frozenshoulderembolization #Embolization #Interventionalradiology OEIS Society Society of Interventional Radiology

I've had a gastroscopy before and I got sedated for the procedure. If I could have a choice to swallow a pillcam instead that is attached to a string, I'd have asked them to sedate me twice. I cannot imagine researchers using patient design in this case (involving patients at the highest-level of decision-making) and patients agreeing with the design and idea. 🧠 Rapid Medical Completes Successful Ischemic Stroke Procedures with the World’s First Robotic Thrombectomy Device Two patients were treated with the Robotic TIGERTRIEVER™, the first endovascular thrombectomy device that adapts autonomously to the patient’s anatomy. “Automating stroke procedures is a significant advancement for the medical field,” emphasizes Dr. Boris Pabón, the endovascular neurosurgeon at ANGIOSUR who performed the first-in-man procedures. “Robotic clot removal achieves a level of precision that surpasses interventional capabilities. The robotic TIGERTRIEVER gives me direct insight into the vessel characteristics and senses what I cannot–truly remarkable.” With the press of a button, the AI-activated TIGERTRIEVER captures the blockage with active integration. The device’s radial force is then automatically reduced to minimize trauma to the brain as it is retrieved. This builds upon the excellent clinical results and procedure times seen with TIGERTRIEVER’s adjustability, further enhancing precision and streamlining workflow.
