One of the best teams I ever put together and why it worked so well 😊 👇 It was during my years at H&M, I was recruiting a team of QA for one of the largest and most important projects at the time. I remember feeling that this was a greater challenge than I thought it would be and therefore I needed special kinds of people in my team, for us to succeed. I started by imagining the outcome I wanted: 📌 What are our challenges 📌 How do we work together 📌 How do we build a socially strong team 📌 What can go wrong during the project 📌 How do I want my team to work through the challenges 📌 Who is fun to work with, and also challenges me as a leader With these in mind, I interviewed and built THE team 🔥 . We worked together to become a very problem solving and delivery focused team 🌈 💥 One of the simplest and best tools for our weekly team communication was our smiley collection - to help us express how we felt right at that moment.

🚨 I've noticed something troubling in Bangladesh: QA often gets blamed when bugs show up in production. 🚨 To the team leaders/Managers: Why do the developers always get the praise, but the QA team gets ignored? 🤔 This blame culture is spreading like a disease in our industry, and it needs to stop. Bugs aren't just a QA problem; they are the responsibility of the whole team. Just like when a project is successful, it’s a win for everyone, not just the developers. To QA professionals: If you’re giving your best effort but still getting blamed all the time, please leave that team! You deserve better Man! Staying in that environment could turn you into a toxic leader or manager in the future. Let’s build a culture where we appreciate the whole team and work together to create great products. The latest #VitaminSoftware Silent Hero is Matei Tamas — our relatively recent QA who trailblazed through onboarding, regular work, and onto a leadership position in five months. 👨💻 The VS QA department Vitamin aims to deliver capital efficient services to our clients, so every expansion we make is a strategic one. In order to provide high quality outcomes & be mindful of client’s resources and internal functions we’ve developed a separate QA department to assist our engineering team in creating reliable software. Matei was the first member of this task force. 🌱 Well-organized growth Matei didn’t just perform his QA tasks — he collaborated with leadership in onboarding fellow testers and crafting procedures to make our work more consistent. While doing so, he exhibited expertise and critical thinking skills that facilitated his progress through the VS hierarchy. 🧠 Team leadership done right Matei took on the mantle of the QA Lead with excellence in mind. He’s been defining procedures, training his team members, and performing his tasks with a mix of professionalism and approachability. His method represents all that Vitamin is and wants to be — and we’re happy to have him. #QALead #TeamEmpowerment
