Great point, Zohaib. Searching for titles alone can also limit your results and prevent you from finding other opportunities that might not even be on your radar. Case in point, I never considered being a resume writer (or knew it was a career path) until I searched for opportunities to use my skills as a writer. Had I kept my search to titles like author, copywriter, or script writer, who knows when I would have discovered my path!
"Sometimes looking for specific titles can be misleading. Play on the skills/value you offer." - Great advice, especially when you're using job boards! A lot of employers like to get creative with job titles, so searching by skill can often yield some solid results you wouldn't have found otherwise. Nice share, Zohaib Ahmad!
Key takeaway: Alignment is the key.
One of the greatest shift happens when you stop discounting yourself for job based on 100% match. Don't allow your beliefs about you take you out of the game.
If your skills allign with the JD,you definitely good to go Give it a try and explore the options Don't limit yourself because of titles Great share Zohaib
That skills piece is so important. Company’s hire for that, not for what your job title was. Skills show you can do the job, focus on that. Great points Zohaib Ahmad
One of my favorite ChatGPT prompts I use: "I will send you my resume and I want you to analyze my skills and previous experiences to identify 5 careers I am qualified for." *Paste resume* The hardest part when exploring careers is knowing what is available.
You make very good points Zohaib. You don't need to fit 100% of the requirements (or be overqualified) to apply for the role.
Job titles vary A LOT and may not be the best way to search for your next opportunity. Searching by skills may even lead to discovering new positions you had never considered or even knew about before!

9moThis is a great advice! When a friend of mine transitioned from marketing to project management, she focused on her strong communication and organization skills. Instead of solely targeting "Project Manager" roles, she highlighted her ability to streamline processes and drive team collaboration. This approach landed her a role where she successfully led a cross-functional team in launching a new product within tight deadlines. The job title wasn't project manager, but the responsibilities were. She aligned her transferable skills perfectly with what the job was looking for, and she got it. It wasn't on her first attempt though; it took some time, but she eventually transitioned and achieved her career goals.
