[Life at Qovery 💜 ] For once, I’m allowing myself to share a more personal post on a professional social network to highlight the values of my company, Qovery. More than the nice offices, more than the cutting-edge equipment, more than the offsites abroad, this is what makes me truly appreciate my journey here. Humanity. Beyond being employees, we are, above all, human beings. This summer, I lost a close family member. I had the opportunity to spend time with her during the last moments. I felt comfortable sharing what I was going through with my team, and with the founders as well (which is already a big step, as it’s not always easy to share personal matters in a professional setting). I talked a bit about it with the CEO of Qovery, and this was his response: "I can't even imagine what you're feeling. If you need time off, don't hesitate, even without using your vacation days." This is truly representative of what we experience at Qovery. This is our culture. This is why I want to stay on this journey for as long as possible. 👋 This one is for all my #Chicago folks. As many of you know Chicago was where #Foxtrot was born & it evolved in front of many of us. You physically could see the differences in the stores & what we referred to as the evolution of Foxtrot. Many of the folks on this list were a part of that evolution & history - they were the ones that were saying "Let's try it!" or "We can figure it out!". Many of them have so much history & learnings under their belt. They tested, piloted & provided feedback on about every single thing that became a Foxtrot process. This time last year, Rob Davarnia and I set up what would become Heyo in a whirlwind 72 hours. Didn't have a name, just a placeholder business entity registered to hit the ground running and get bank accounts set up so we could get the team hired. It was probably one of the craziest 72 hours of my life. Totally worth it. I can't believe how quick this year has flown by. I am so incredibly grateful to continue to get to do life and work alongside these amazing individuals. The grit and determination of this team to stick together after we all lost our jobs last year is unlike anything I've ever seen or heard of before. Thanks to all the clients that trusted us to continue working together. It shows how much of a relationship was built over the last 5 years. I can't thank so many of you enough for the kind words and encouragement you sent to both the team and myself assuring us that you couldn't even imagine working with anyone else and you trusted us to figure it out quickly as we got Heyo established to continue your projects. You helped provide that support for us to re-hire the team and get right back to work. Not many companies get to start off day 1 with nearly a year of work secured. To our team, thank you and your families for trusting us through a whirlwind transition to care for them, and provide a stable workplace so we can all put food on the table for our families. Thank you for being the amazing individuals that you are. We live, laugh, learn and grow together doing life with each other. I'm so proud of the teammates I get to be surrounded with and even more excited that I get to call y'all friends and not just coworkers. This has been such a rewarding experience. It's hard to put into words, but when everyone on the team is rowing in the same direction, it's amazing how smooth of a journey and how much you can accomplish. This warrants it's own post, but to try and quickly summarize, from an operational and team standpoint, things have been so smooth that it's allowed our leadership team to really focus on the core of the business rather than be in the business. So what's next for Heyo? - We're currently growing and expanding the team.
