Time for an update from our 3ID LABS cohort It’s about time we share the latest buzz from our innovative hub 3ID LABS! As we settle into campus Stropkaai our 'labbers' are diving deep into the program, which is all about equipping them with the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. In just seven weeks, our labbers are already experiencing profound transformations, immersing themselves in hands-on learning and collaboration. Despite the inevitable stress of upcoming presentation today (GATE 2) before a diverse panel of professionals, our labbers are rising to the challenge themselves. One of our labbers, Carol Sangolqui, shared her insight on participation in 3ID LABS, saying, "It was not what I signed up for. It is above all expectations, and I thought I knew myself, but only now started realizing how I can check that how true that is and how I discover my blind spots." This sentiment resonates deeply with our mission at 3ID LABS – to foster self-discovery and growth in every individual. Another labber, Jana De Gryse, had a profound epiphany, expressing, "I have learned more in these six weeks than I did in the 4 years of my bachelor's degree." This speaks volumes about the nature of the program, which is designed to accelerate learning and development. And then there's Jake Meredith, an experienced sports teacher and rugby coach, who initially grappled with the idea of having to know it all. However, he's embraced the ethos of continuous learning, realizing, "I can continue to challenge myself, and there is always something new to learn, and that is great to discover and embrace." This afternoon the jury decides which of the 2 cases (out of 3) will continue to the next final Gate, 30th May. The battle will be between challenges related to elderly care and the use of AI in recruitment and job-hunting. #3IDLABS #Innovation #21stCenturySkills #ProfessionalDevelopment

Yesterday I had the honor to be of the jury in Gate 2 at 3ID LABS. I'm often part of Gate 1 so this was a new experience and again I loved it. And this time even more. In the jury next to me was Juan Diego Alvarez Ospina, who was part of the cohorts about a year ago and this reminded me of a story I would like to share. About 10 years ago I was in a tipping point in my life. I had been working as a SAP HR consultant for 10 years, just became a mom and I needed a change. I knew I didn't wanted to keep doing what I was doing but I had no idea where to go next - and I mean really no idea. I had been an 'SAP HR consultant' or project manager for 10 years and it had become part of my identity. So changing jobs at that moment felt like a huge change, a change in my identity. Since I had no idea where to go, I decided to go study again and broaden my scope to discover the possibilities. I followed two postgraduates one of which 'Innovative change management' where I first met Lieven Desomviele & Isabelle Vandevyvere (and some superb fellowstudents). 💡It's clear: 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞! I discovered a world I had no idea existed. I had been part of a very traditional environment with meetings, webex-calls, blueprints, excels, powerpoints and thousands of mails. And I entered a world of post-its, design thinking, creative leadership, Kotter, Lencioni, storytelling.. A world full of color, a toolbox with so many different ways to choose from to reach the results you want. It was the start of my never-ending journey of learning and the wish to make a difference in the world in one way or another. They don't organise the postgraduate anymore but transformed it into a even more impactful formula of 3ID Labs. 3ID LABS is a program at the Arteveldehogeschool where students of all backgrounds, experience and ages come together to create their own solutions to existing social challenges. Through cases and thus real experience, they are not just teaching about design thinking and how to carve out a product and service. They teach much more. It's about taking responsibility, self management, resilience, real teamwork.. all skills we desperately need in our companies! Imagine how the world would look like if we would know where we can make the difference, if we all would really worked together, we would define a clear purpose (personally and in our companies)... 👉🏻Thanks for inviting me yesterday and giving me the chance to be part of these transformations. 👉🏻Good luck to the current cohort in gate 3, and enjoy the next weeks! 👉🏻Thanks Lieven Desomviele & Caroline Van Keymeulen and all their colleagues for making a difference in how these students will approach their next steps in life (even if they might only realize this later in life). 👉🏻And fellow jurymembers Thomas Deschepper, Juan Diego Alvarez Ospina, Isabela Bonfim, Toon Maillard, I hope to see you again in one of the other cohorts!
