Managing a team is an ongoing opportunity to learn and grow. Here's what I've gathered so far: 👉 It's a balancing act. Not everyone will nod in agreement to your decisions. And that's okay. 👉 The power of connection is real. Don't underestimate the value of spending quality time with your team. Understanding their roles and lifting them up fosters unbeatable collaboration. 👉 Step into the unknown. Yes, taking risks feels like walking a tightrope sometimes, but that's where the magic happens. 👉 Trust is the glue. Rely on your colleagues, and watch your collective efficiency soar. Plus, it's a surefire way to make them feel valued and empowered. What would you add?

We've worked with a lot of teams over the years and whilst every team is unique, there are a common set of traits and behaviours we often recognise in teams with a healthy dynamic. 💛 There is trust between team members 💛 Everyone knows what they are responsible for and there is accountability 💛 People collaborate to solve problems 💛 There is a clear vision and direction of travel 💛 When things go wrong, the team learn together and don’t criticise 💛 Team members can speak up and challenge how to do things better 💛 There is a culture of appreciating difference Think about the very best team you have ever been involved with. What does it truly mean to be a team? In our company, we have a metaphor called The Line. It represents what it takes for teamwork to actually work. We each must do our part to stand at The Line. As a leader, it is something I reflect on often and always before l look at those on my team. Am I doing everything I can to meet my team there? Am I owning my part of the equation? Am I creating an environment that would make my team want to meet me at The Line? It really is so simple, and yet, it is powerful enough to change everything. Teamwork is a hot buzz word and the hardest reality to consistently achieve. It takes follow through to build trust; trust builds synergy and synergy creates success. You want teamwork? Work hard at being a teammate that follows through on your word; be consistent, be dependable and be humble to always learn how you can improve. Remember, teamWORK is not suppose to be easy. But when we WORK on the things we can control, we together create the TEAM that creates the success we all seek.
