CARLA simulates a highly realistic driving environment for training autonomous vehicles, from detailed models of real world vehicles through to buildings, sidewalks, water and weather.

CARLA's inbuilt, ready-to-use maps cover multiple, diverse environments. The maps include high-rise, urban, rural and high and low density residential environments for training and testing autonomous vehicles in a disparate range of settings.

CARLA's Traffic Manager

During the training phase, this helps by populating the training data with other vehicles to teach autonomous vehicles to react to other traffic. At the testing phase the simulated traffic forces the autonomous vehicle to navigate and avoid other traffic on the road.
