10 questions for Clemens Maier

Today, Clemens Maier tells us what drives him as Sales Manager and what makes work at Storopack special for him.

 1.  Tell us about your job at Storopack. 

I started my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Storopack in 2003. After successfully completing my training, I worked in Metzingen (at that time still a Molding location until 2008) in internal sales, quality management and during my part-time studies in business administration (VWA) in central purchasing. As Sales Manager for technical molded parts made of particle foams, I have been looking after existing customers and acquiring new customers in the middle of Germany since 2014, i.e. from Saarlouis in the west to Hof in the east and from Karlsruhe in the south to Koblenz in the north. My main customers are supplied from the production plants in Krumbach, Langenau and Mainleus.

2.   What does a typical working day look like?

Before Corona I spent most of the time in the car and at customers and plants. Since Corona, I've been working from home a lot, so I'm even happier now that I can drive my company car more often again, as I'm a passionate driver.

3.   What do you particularly like about your role?

Independent work.

4.   What drives you to work in your area of responsibility?

The satisfaction of customers and my colleagues.

5.   What qualities do you most often need at work and why?

Eloquence

6.   What excites you most about Storopack as an employer?

7.   If you had to describe Storopack in three words, which would it be?

Familiar, human, successful.

8.   What advice would you give young professionals in your job?

Be open to new things - take opportunities. Storopack offers them.

9.   What can you definitely not go without in your work day?

My car and smartphone.

10. What hobbies / things do you like to do that make you YOU?

Drawing / Painting and sports.
