10 Things, As A Beginner, You Can Do to Win Sales by Using Twitter
Way back, I wrote an a number of articles on Twitter, which I share below.
Recently, Neena Dayal contacted me on Twitter and said
"I've been using Twitter since 2009, but have not been able to increase my following, do you have any suggestions?"
The three articles I have written about Twitter are as follows
Twitter – The Power of 3 Technique for Social Selling
12 Reasons why you should be on Twitter (Without even Tweeting once!)
How to use Twitter to get 10 C-Level Appointments Per Week — A Case Study
Below are the list of 10 things I suggested.
So what of the results? Neena has gained 500 followers and while has had a number of leads she has two, what she calls two "serious proposals" that she hopes to close.
The ten points, I suggest are as follows:-
- Join and get involved with Twitter Chats - If there isn’t one in your niche then start one.
- Follow and engage with people in your industry; all types of people, including influencers.
- Share, insightful and educational content, using products such as Flipboard.
- Share, influencers insightful and educational content.
- Create your own insightful and educational content and share this article.
- Play nicely - Avoid politics, religion, smut and addictions.
- Don’t sell - Remember that nobody is on twitter to be sold to, they are there to be educated and entertained.
- While you can “schedule”, don’t automate. It's social media, if somebody engages then you need to talk.
- You Twitter page is a reflection of you, make sure you have a photo of yourself. People will tend to avoid brands. Say something informative about yourself. Have a pinned tweet and change it often and remember, people will “judge” you based on your last 3 tweets.
- If you are a company or brand then don’t forget this isn’t all about you. This isn’t interruption marketing, this is permission marketing. It’s the world biggest democracy, people do not have to follow or engage with you.
I was interviewed recently by Neena on her podcast and I pointed out that the effort in this with you, not me. This will require you to put in time and effort, but it works. It works for me and it works for thousands of people around the world.
You can connect with Neena Dayal on LinkedIn here and Twitter here and she's more than happy to talk to you about her success and failures.

4yTimothy (Tim) Hughes 提姆·休斯, I wish to share some of my thoughts prior to implementing your tips consistently. ☑️ I joined Twitter in 2009 but always found spending time on social media quite cumbersome. ☑️ After all, when you spend most of your time on clients' digital presence, who has time to spend on one's own? LOL! 🙄😄 ☑️ And, my own visibility was no matter because I got most clients from word-of-mouth referrals. ☑️ So, social media presence was just something of a brochure. ☑️ This #pandemic gave me time to think and seek advise and figure out how to enhance my own #Twitter visibility. ✅ I've found Twitter to be a place to have great instantaneous conversations, WITHOUT making any attempts at selling. ✅ I just can't go about talking about myself or my products and my services. It just doesn't feel right. That's one of the very reasons why I avoided social media. ✅ But, you don't need to do this AT ALL. That's the key I had been missing for so long. ✅ Having found this key now, I'm enjoying myself thoroughly on Twitter and making friends, getting leads, and serious business proposals. ⏩ It's human nature, that getting results automatically creates more enthusiasm. So, I'm raring to go further and forward.
