10th Edition: David Toutain
In the tenth edition of “A Commitment to Excellence,” we look inside one of the “world’s 50 greatest restaurants,” David Toutain. The Paris establishment is led by chef David Toutain, who cut his teeth working in and for some of the finest French culinary masters. Opened in 2013, the restaurant has continued to push the boundaries for excellence in cuisine and service, earning its second Michelin star in 2019. According to the rating service, a restaurant with two stars has excellent cooking and is worth a detour. If you are in Paris and want three hours of magic, make the detour to the Left Bank.
Diners are treated to an ever-evolving tasting menu, four options at lunch and two options at dinner, that takes the senses on a wonderful journey. The chef creates a new menu each day, I have a hard enough time creating a different meal each night for my kids and I can’t imagine crafting a fifteen-course tasting menu new each day. The staff is there as your guide through the meal, pairing wine and crafting menus to adhere to any dietary restrictions. An excellent restaurant makes the patron feel special, like they are the only people in a restaurant, even if the voices of other diners can be quietly heard.
A unique feature that sets David Toutain above the rest is their connection to nature. According to the chef, "Nature is our main source of inspiration. We place our produce orders according to future bookings in order to minimize waste and we are keen to share with all members of staff the good practices to be implemented."

As a word of caution, do not look at the bill when it arrives just pay and remember how the special feeling you had during the meal.
I am ready to eat and thank you for reading.
