1983 Civic Driven only 35,000 Kilometers – Owners Review

While recalling some of the iconic cars from Honda, you would possibly land on Integra, Type R, and Accord, while this Honda Civic 1983 model was one of the initial cars from this Japanese automaker that built up Honda’s popularity in the early 90s and 2000s.

Overview

Zohaib, the owner of this classic sedan, is a young man with an aesthetic taste for vintage models. He bought this 1983 Civic from one of his relatives. What persuaded him to buy this classic car was its genuine condition and low mileage of just 35,000 km.

Exterior

Overall, this model has a boxy fascia with sleek horizontal grills that combine with the Stanley headlights. While there were plenty of character lines, the original wheel hubs and chrome usage gave it a peculiar vintage aura. Having a rear profile that helps you glimpse back at the models launched back in the ’80s would help you reminisce about the simpler times.

Engines and Powertrains

This Civic model was launched in 1.3 L and 1.5 L models. This one came with an in-line 1.2 L engine with a 2-barrel carburetor. Opening an inverted bonnet, you will find a properly insulated engine area. In this model, Honda launched its CVCC technology to control the overall combustion and keep the carbon footprints under control.

The powertrain, fitted with a 4-speed manual transmission and a strong suspension, ensures there is no rattling or vibration while driving through potholes or bumpy areas. Its suite includes decent fuel economy of 8-9 km/l within the city and 9-10 km/l on the highways.

Interior

Where the exterior is in healthy and rust-proof condition, the interior has the same vibe. It features a 2-spoke steering, classic cassette player, genuine AC controls, an odometer, a fuel gauge, manual windows, and side mirrors. Blending soft tan leather with a fabric combo made it look clean. The roof panel features dome light and switch lights. In this Civic, Honda introduced a multi-flow system operated by physical controls to allow fresh air into the cabin area.

You must be intrigued by how Zohaib managed to keep it in its genuine condition. We are, too! He shared that he avoided pressure washes and frequently used UV protection lotions to keep it dust-proof.
