1st Hataciku Poem in The World

A New Life

Winter passes fast

2022 comes at last

A new life awaits

More covid not less

Life continues unusual

With loved ones around

Social distancing surrounds

Omicron comes with more rounds

Towards omega

At the end of timeless age

When we live again

.

Invented by the Author.

A Hataciku poem consists of 65 syllables written in 3 stanzas as 11 lines of phrase arranged in the pattern sequence of 5-7-5-5-7-5-7-7-5-7-5 = 65 syllables.

Hataciku is a portmanteau word for tanka and sciku haikus [Haiku-Tanka-Sciku].

Its minimalist essence makes each word and syllable counts.

It projects the beauty of 3 poetic forms.

It embraces the simplicity, brevity and power of haikus.

It has a title for focus.

It has a season.

It has multiple subjects.

It has no punctuation.

It can be rhythmic.

It infuses the energy of human creativity

To inspire and motivate hope

In appreciation of all that life brings

For our inevitable victory.

Earlier classical forms:

My First Haiku

My First Tanka

My First Sciku
