Don't Just "Make It Big", Make It Worth It!!

If you are seeing this you have seen the recent a post by Ariella Coombs, at Careerealism.com "3 Signs You are Destined To Make It Big" The irony of the post is that it has given Ariella her 15 minutes of fame herself. If you do the slightest bit of research you will see this young editor in her early 20's with no real experience under her belt was now published in Forbes, Business Insider, the Financial Post and who knows where else?

Age to me, really is just a number. In an age when teenagers are running multi million dollar enterprises age in years of experience don't make you however I can't be the only one to find it interesting that Ariella's "make it" was this article itself.

We all have goals and dreams and visions of success but those visions are different for everyone and even the idea of success is different. So the question here is "What Is Big"? As the problem she doesn't address is the fear of success. Many people talk about the fear of failure but there's a very real issue with the fear of success.

Once people start seeing their "dreams" becoming a reality they back away, it's not that they are ready to take the detour to take them to their path, they deliberately sabotage themselves that they can then find excuses as to why it didn't work. They say they are committed to succeed but in essence they commit themselves to failure as the idea of actually succeeding is so scary and that fear of success, no one can change but you.

So it's not just a vision with confidence you need for your roadmap to success. You also need an avenue to "release the beast". Don't just believe that "all is just a phase" because in an era where our thoughts are 40 characters and reality "television" is the span of a YouTube video, you have to continue to plug away and actually "make it" happen. Be proactive and notice when your fear of success comes into play. Don't tame the lion inside, be consistent and determined but keep on building your blocks of life as to "make it big" you have to keep going past your "your one hit wonder". Know your goals, reach past them so you don't just want to make it big, want to make it happen!! As it's the actions that will lead you to your goals.
