2018 Musings
2018 Musings ...........
A famous singer once sang " Life is like a play, act 1,2,3 etc" but as I sit here, I like to think my life, as like others around me, is like a tune. Music has played such a big part of my life and this is why.
I believe from being very young we start to play our very own unique tune, when we are younger its there, but still naive, its still a bit higgeldey piggedley , a bit all over the place as they say in music but the tune is there, barely recognisable but still there.
As we grow older it becomes more clear, more understandable, we start to listen to it play, move and sway to it and learn to love it. Thing is a little later, (teenage years ) and we have all done it, we start to play the wrong notes, not always but sometimes, and sometimes this can disrupt your tune and your very own unique tune can become almost a different tune, one that sounds similar but not as beautiful, not as melodic and certainly not the one you have listened to all those years.
Thankfully, as with most of us, as we get older (And sensible) the tune you used to listen to comes back, it comes back stronger and louder than ever before. We dance, we sing, we live with that tune for years, so happy knowing it's our very own and nobody else's, we think it will last forever and ever !!! but as we grow old, it gets quieter and quieter, becomes distorted, jumps a bit as it did on the old 45" records or 78" albums. It starts to stutter and as much as you try and remember all of it some parts are missing.
Then, one day, if only for a few seconds or minutes you remember it, all of it, from beginning to end, and its the most wonderful feeling in the world, you see, you don't really forget it completely because it's YOUR TUNE and nobody else's. It's just that at a later stage of life we might need a little nudge, or a little help to remember it. And when you do, it's as if it never been away, just as if an old friend has come back into your life with a huge smile and a bigger hug!!!
As we approach 2019 please help others to remember their very own tune if you can, because, one day it may be you that needs help remembering your very own UNIQUE TUNE
Please share or copy and paste if you wish to and all the very best for 2019
