Helping those in need in BC, Alberta, and beyond is a vital part of Centra and why we exist. Our incredible team of Employee Owners nominate causes close to their heart, and we do what we can to support them through the Centra Cares Foundation. 2024 was no different! This year we surpassed a very special milestone, hitting over $2,000,000 raised for over 250 charities since our Foundation began. Read on to learn all about the amazing charities we’ve supported throughout the year!
Centra Cares Golf Tournament and Ronald McDonald House
Centra Cares' 2024 Golf Tournament was a major success, raising $110,000 for Ronald McDonald House! With generous sponsors such as Cardinal Glass Industries, TD, and Country Lumber and support from our online auction, $90,000 went to the BC & Yukon House and $20,000 to the Alberta House. Centra matched these funds to donate to other deserving causes, bringing the total raised to $220,000! Team members from our team and those of our sponsors recently visited Ronald McDonald House of BC & Yukon to cook for the children and their families!
The Centra Cares Home Renovation
Centra Cares awarded the very deserving Trottier family of Delta the grand prize in our 2024 Home Renovation Contest, providing them with an entire home’s worth of high-performance Centra Windows and doors! Despite rainy weather, 24 of our Employee Owners worked tirelessly to complete the installation in just six hours. The Trottiers’ new windows significantly reduce drafts, noise, and energy bills, offering them a more comfortable, peaceful home. We can’t wait to launch our 2025 contest!
$40,000 for 40 Years
2024 was a big year for Centra as a whole, as we’re celebrating our 40th birthday in December! We knew there was no better way to mark the occasion than a big charity giveaway. We’ll be donating $10,000 to four charities through Centra Cares in December, giving a major boost to a great cause in each of our service areas. Learn more in the weeks ahead!
Calgary’s Toy Mountain
Centra Cares supporting Toy Mountain in Calgary has quickly become a Christmas tradition! In addition to our donation to Fear is Not Love (formerly the Calgary Women’s Shelter), Centra's Calgary showroom serves as a drop-off location for toys to help children in need. Our ongoing support of Toy Mountain allows us to make the holidays a little brighter for families facing hardship. Thank you to everyone who is helping to spread the joy this holiday season!

Tour De Cure
2024 may be the final year for Tour De Cure, but Centra Cares continued our support of Team CTV for one last ride. Over the years, we've been proud to contribute to this incredible event, which has raised over $131 million in total for cancer research. Centra Employee Owners like Chris Chatterton also joined Team CTV on the ride in the past. While this may be the final ride for Tour De Cure, the fight continues – and Centra Cares remains committed to the cause.
Global’s Month of Giving
Centra Cares is continuing our support for this great initiative in 2024! Through the Month of Giving, the foundation donates $500 every day to a different local charity between December 1st and 24th. Be sure to follow along on our social channels throughout the month, and check back for a full list of these worthy causes before the New Year!
Support for Causes throughout the Year
When it comes to giving, there doesn’t have to be a special occasion! We support causes over the course of the year, and that was no different in 2024. We’re always happy to hear suggestions from our Employee Owners! This year has seen us give to Rainbow Refugee, the Langley Senior Resources Society, Encompass, multiple local food banks, and plenty more.
