2024 Women of Legal Tech: Honorees Making an Impact
While technology has been progressively revolutionizing the legal industry, the role of women in legal technology is increasingly prominent. In the year 2024, we are celebrating successful women who are not only setting up technological advancements but also inspiring other women to do the same. The honorees of this year are selected based on their impact, innovation, and passion in the enhancement of the legal profession through technology.
A Spotlight on Innovation
The American Bar Association’s Law Technology Today has revealed the list of the Women of Legal Tech for 2024 with remarkable women in legal tech.
Nicole Clark - CEO and co-founder of Trellis Research, Nicole leverages AI and machine learning to provide litigators with strategic legal intelligence, transforming how legal professionals approach litigation.
Jennifer Leonard - Founder of Creative Lawyers, Jen focuses on helping law firms and legal departments modernize through innovative strategies, design thinking, and AI-driven solutions.
Miriam Kim - A partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson, Miriam specializes in complex civil litigation and intellectual property, representing high-profile tech companies.
Lourdes M. F. - CEO of Karta Legal, Lourdes combines legal expertise with tech innovation to drive transformational change in legal operations and practice management.
Kara Peterson - Co-founder of descrybe.ai, Kara is at the forefront of justice tech, using AI to improve access to legal services in the United States. They are young, talented and from different parts of the world and work in different areas of the legal profession. Altogether, all the women included in this list have more than three hundred years of experience in legal technology, and on average, each of them has been working in this sphere more than ten years. Their work covers fields like artificial intelligence for legal research, cyber-security, e-discovery, and legal process automation, affecting over 2,500 law firms worldwide.

ILTA’s list of Influential Women in Legal Technology
Besides the ABA, the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) has awarded five inspiring women who have made significant achievements in legal technology. These leaders have been recognized not only for their technical skills but for their capacity to lead within the legal profession. Altogether, those women have led the efforts that have yielded an overall 40% rise in the use of legal technology solutions in their organizations. Furthermore, they are credited for having made significant contributions to the cutting down of operation costs by twenty five percent among legal departments that apply these technologies.
Honoring Diversity and Inclusion
Another interesting fact about this year’s honorees is that they are all focused on increasing representation of diverse professionals in legal technology. A recent survey revealed that out of 100 employees in the legal technology sector, only 28 are women. But the 2024 honorees are right out ahead of altering this picture. Some of these women have started mentoring programs and that these programs have mentored over 500 young professionals and out of these 60 percent are women and other minorities. Also, such activities have been registering a 30% annual growth in terms of stakeholder’s engagement, which has demonstrated their relevance.
