$69.7 Billion Holiday Retail Spend Forecasted for Peak Season
Retailers can anticipate a boost in holiday sales, with a record spend expected during BFCM despite modest growth in discretionary spending.
In the four day Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales period (29 November – 2 December), Australian consumers are set to spend a record $6.7 billion, an increase of 5.5 percent compared to the same time last year.

Iconic family run party supply store The Party People is up for sale as the company prepares to scale to the next level.
Launched in 1985, The Party People is one of Australia’s longest-running and best-known party stores.
With its huge ecommerce presence and retail outlet stores, the company has more than 35,000 products lines on range, and has serviced more than 1 million parties.
According to a statement, The Party People is now open to expressions of interest to either purchase the business outright or co-invest with an existing owner.
"We have decided it’s the right time to either find that capital and reach for something bigger, equally we feel like a sale might be on the cards for the right person and we are flexible with our options.”
