3 Productivity Hacks for Maximizing Every Minute of the Day

I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford to waste time. Do you know why? Because every single person in this world—you, me, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey—has the same number of minutes in a day. If you don’t use them wisely, your competition will.

One of the most important things I do every day is managing my time effectively; I make sure I’m maximizing every minute in order to be as productive as possible. Today, I’m going to share three productivity hacks I use in order to be more successful. What’s stopping you from following in my footsteps? Nothing! If you want to see yourself achieve MORE this year, try this:

Productivity hack #1: Plan your morning the night before

If you wait until your alarm goes off to start your day, you’re already behind. I plan every morning the night before, and I recommend you do the same. Why plan in advance? Because success is about preparation. Think about how much more prepared you were for school picture day if your mom laid out a cute outfit the night before and had it ready to go in the morning instead of leaving you to figure it out for yourself. Now, here’s the adult version: Imagine you have a huge meeting with an important client/investor/developer tomorrow; Which sounds like a more successful way to start the day?

Option 1. Picking out a power outfit the night before and mapping out how long the commute will take you so you know exactly when to leave by.

Option 2. Fumbling around your closet at 7 a.m. while you try to remember if that shirt is at the cleaner’s and whether it will be faster to walk or take the subway.

You already know the answer. Plan everything you can in advance! Map out your morning schedule the night before, set your monthly goals the month before, and so on. Days go by far too quickly to just wing it. Manage your time like you manage your budget and you will end up making better use of it.

Productivity hack #2: Delegate all non-essential tasks

As a salesperson, your most important job is to generate leads. No matter how large of a team you have or how successful you become, YOU will always be the point person, the closer, the deal-maker—and the more time you can spend focusing on those essential tasks that only you can do, the better. As early as possible, begin to delegate other things (like social media posts, taking listing photos, handling administrative work) to other people. Will it cost money? Yes. But will it free up your time to focus on things that make MORE money? Also yes. Consider using a platform like Upwork to hire freelancers for individual projects, or pooling resources with another salesperson you know or work with to hire a joint administrative assistant.

Productivity hack #3: Invest in tools that save you time

I hired my driver, Yuri, long before I had any money to hire a driver. I was investing in a tool that would allow me to do more work, reach more clients, and close more deals. And it paid off. I continue to do the same with any tool that boosts my productivity, whether it’s an app or a laptop. You’ve probably seen me using my Dell Latitude 9420, which is powered by an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ vPro® processor to make it super fast. It’s a perfect example of how the right tools can help you do more in the same amount of time.

This laptop has all sorts of bells and whistles that help me bang out more work and get more done. It’s the world’s first business PC that uses Intel® Visual Sensing Technology for the fastest-possible wake and lock times. If you’re as impatient as I am, you know that even half a second can make a difference. The camera function is also great difficult lighting, with superior image display quality. It's also fast enough to manage my calendar (no small feat) that helps me and my assistants fit everything in (and believe me, my calendar looks like the craziest game of Tetris EVER, but we always find a way to fit important meetings in).

So, my final productivity tip is to choose tools that will make your life easier and allow you to do more with every minute of your day. Investing in yourself, your brand, and your business is worth every penny, because the ROI directly correlates to your future success. A year from today, will you look back and know that you used every minute of your time as wisely as possible? Don’t wonder—start now and DO it.
