3 Things You Should Know About Your Ideal Client
Driven - Determined - Focused
These are the people that do the work.
These are the things you should be paying attention to with your clients. Sometimes it can be difficult to calculate at the beginning, but once you recognize it or the lack of it, you’ll understand why there are people that get results and why there are those that only end up cultivating a frustrating relationship with you.
Here’s what matters….
Get over trying to be perfect. You’ll end up being miserable trying to reign in your natural exuberance with people who don’t “get you” or understand your style. You may gain a $10k or $20k month, but if the relationship doesn’t flow dreamingly, then it’s not worth the headaches.
Truth is, patterns exist. If you look deep enough you’ll see what made some clients a joy to work with, while others were a struggle. Think about what those differences are, so that you don’t sign on with a less-than-perfect client.
One out of my first group of $10k clients verbally spoke as if she came straight out of a college book. This translated into her written content also. Even though I’ve been to college, I could never see myself getting to that level of speaking in everyday life. It won't translate into sales.
It was like pulling teeth trying to get her to understand the difference between authentic content writing and simply stating facts. I realized that for those who have never done it before, it’s a struggle, and they’re just not ready to get bare naked with their content to naturally and genuinely connect with their audience. Stories, experiences, etc….all of it matters. It’s all a part of the strategy to "sell without selling".
But those who are “ready” have to be aligned spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. They have to be willing to give up on the thought of fear and stand in the fire to get to the other side of it.
And what else….
The vision for who your ideal client is, is much more than just an avatar that you create with add-on demographics. You may write up a brief snippet on who she is and what she likes, but if you stop there, you may be missing a huge piece of the puzzle—and losing out on the best clients because of it.
As much as you focus on creating transformation for your clients, you’ll struggle with this if you’re not acknowledging who you’re dealing with in terms of readiness and personality match.
-Get to know who your ideal client is on the inside and not what you think they should look like from the outside.
-Look at patterns from past and current clients to figure out what makes them the best or worst type of client.
-The vision for your ideal client should guide you, but continue to look deep so that you don’t waste time trying to make something work that simply won’t.
You cannot have the elevated approach that will get your clients the transformation they need if you don't set boundaries with who you accept into your world. You have to cut out the weeds if you want a beautiful flower bed.
This means you need to get aligned with more people, position your expertise to attract those amazing clients and develop a system to keep them flowing into your business. If you're ready to hit your income goals every month and book more clients on demand, click here.
