3 Tips from a Medium to Thrive this December
December is a full month added to your already full schedule.
When you think of December - do you think of just getting through the month?
The end of the year work deadlines, the holidays, the family traditions and extra activities can make your December calendar so full that you don't know how you'll get through it.
Most high performers and high achievers find themselves sick at the end of December and into January.
How do you get a different result this December? By doing these 3 practices to THRIVE.
1. Schedule - Do More Things You LOVE
What part of the holidays do you dread?
Is it certain traditions, family drama, the overbooked schedule or end of the year work deadlines?
Knowing what you DON'T like makes more space for you to have TIME for things you do LIKE.
You want to call out what you don't like and then ask if this is something you still have to do or something you think you NEED to do?
What would be more FUN for you to do instead?
What brings you joy in the month of December? What do you look forward to doing? What brings a smile to your face and makes it feel like you have more time and energy? You want to do MORE of these things!
What are things you don't want to do that you can hand off to someone else?
Delegation and asking for support are key to thriving this December.
Do the things you LOVE and hand off the things you don't.
Also question the traditions you do just because you've always done them if no one else wants to do them anymore.
While I love to buy the perfect gifts, I am not a fan of wrapping them. I typically hire support with this. What can you delegate or hand off to someone else?
2. Recharge - Take Time for Yourself
The number ONE reason people get so sick in December and into January is because they burnout and push themselves past their physical limits.
You prevent burnout by recharging. Recharging is self-care.
You know how much energy your phone and devices have, but what about your body?
Self-care can be simple like getting enough sleep, eating foods your body loves and getting the exercise your body wants every day.
Self-care can also be going out to your favorite restaurant and truly enjoying the meal. Booking a spa day or a vacation that you're looking forward to.
If you feel GUILTY at all, you ruin the recharging that you're giving to your body. So when you think self-care, think this is how I'm plugging in or recharging.
How will you recharge every day to prevent burnout?
Don't think of recharging as selfish. Think of it as what it is - something you HAVE TO DO if you want to keep operating at the level you're currently operating at.
3. Triggered - Do More Energy Work Daily
While the holidays can be filled with joy and special memories, it can also be a time of year that you dread or feel very triggered during.
When you are triggered, it is an immediate sign to you that you have letting go to do. This means your energy needs to be cleared asap. This will help you clear your energy.
The answer to this is daily energy work to clear, balance and align your energy.
I'm talking about easy, yet powerful practices you can do literally anywhere and then feel better after doing it. Here are some videos I've created to help you start your daily inner work. Pick one that seems interesting or helpful right now and work your way through the list.
What are your triggers?
When do your triggers appear?
What energy work is the most supportive for you to do when you feel triggered to feel balanced instead?
When you know what your triggers are and how they show up for you, you can create a different experience for yourself and those around you.
If you feel triggered, that is your IMMEDIATE sign to do energy work, no exceptions. You will feel better and those around you will notice a shift in you as well.
