30 Lessons I learned from my dogs.
I was recently reminded of this article which I wrote in May 2019. We recently decided to foster a one year old puppy, Kai. His actions, his joie de vivre, his curiosity about his surroundings, were so uplifting and entertaining that I looked up this article and decided to re-post it. Not all learning comes from books, school or trainers. We can gain knowledge from our closest friends, the furry ones.
1. Stretch when you awaken. You never know what fun things you will need to chase on a moment’s notice.
2. Always be ready for anything; you can have fun doing almost anything.
3. Lots of people will tell you what to do but you already know to whom you should listen.
4. When you’re happy to see someone, let them know it.
5. If you plop down in the middle of chaos, expect to get stepped on.
6. No one likes to be surprised from behind with a cold wet nose.
7. When you need a nap, take one.
8. It’s okay to love someone unconditionally.
9. Sometimes you just have to howl when you’re happy.
10. Keep track of everyone that’s important to you. Check on them frequently.
11. The people that treat you the best have a good heart.
12. If someone treats you badly, you should let them know it.
13. If you see someone hurting someone you love, show them your fangs.
14. Communications has many forms, if you’re paying attention.
15. When being ignored, get up close and in direct eye contact.
16. Not everyone sees what you see so make sure to have your input heard…by everyone.
17. When people say something that you don’t understand, perk up your ears and look at it from a different angle.

18. When someone makes you food, show your appreciation.
19. Don’t bother anyone when they are eating.
20. Nobody likes getting their hair cut or being told they need a bath.
21. Nobody likes going to the doctor or the dentist.
22. Few things are as nice a snuggling at night with someone you love.
23. When you settle in to sleep, stretch out and get comfortable before someone else takes the space.
24. Spontaneous play is infectious.
25. Few things match the sheer joy of going for a ride in the car with the windows down.
26. Going for a walk is good exercise and provides the opportunity to meet nice people.
27. Running together without talking is Zen like.
28. It’s okay to stare out the window and think. It’s therapeutic.
29. I may not look like I’m paying attention, but when you say something important to me, I’ll hear it.
30. New things are exciting but it’s OK to still love your old stuff

He was recruited in 2013 to help turnaround a bankrupt school supply company where he held the title of Vice President of Sales. After succeeding in this turnaround, he has started his own management consulting company, Clarity Consulting, which is based in Scottsdale, AZ and Gladwyne, PA.
Chris’ success in leadership is due to his focus on performance management, KPI’s and process control. He believes in unbiased evaluation of the customer facing assets, opportunities and the customer needs. Chris is analytical, focused on results and builds strong relationships with customers due to his unwavering attention to detail and caring for their success.
