4-butylresorcinol is a highly effective skin whitening and brightening agent with the following effects:

1, tyrosinase and peroxidase (chemical) inhibitor preparation;

In the three processes of melanin synthesis, 4-butylresorcinol not only has a very important inhibitory effect on tyrosinase activity, but also has a synergistic effect on whitening activity during the process.

1 Before melanin synthesis, it interferes with tyrosinase synthesis and glycosylation, preventing the enzyme from being absorbed by melanosomes.

2 During melanin synthesis, inhibits the activity of enzymes that act as competitive inhibitors of tyrosinase and TRP1 enzymes, reducing the formation of by-products that promote melanin protogenesis.

3 After the synthesis of melanin, it improves the degradation of tyrosinase, inhibits the transfer of melanosomes to keratinocytes, and has the effect of light stripping due to the action of fatty acids. This function is enhanced by the presence of fatty acids and regulates the degradation of tyrosinase.
