4 x Personal Brand tips you can implement today!

We all look to our idols to fulfill our fantasies be it in construction, film, the arts, sports, astrology….you name it.

What do they all have in common?

They put themselves in a position to “get noticed”.

Every single one of us is constantly putting our own personal brand and marketing strategy out there for the world to see through one to one conversations, emails, phone calls, social media posts, and the most powerful of all “word of mouth”

We all have individual qualities that define who we are, our individuality and diversity which make us all unique/sellable/employable in our own right.

There’s no “right and wrong” where a personal brand is concerned, you’ll find your own cheerleaders however marketing yourself is the key to outshining your competition when it comes to your job search.

Some people never have to go for an interview or apply for a job because their own day to day marketing/personal brand is so strong it precedes them

Personal Branding and what it says about these individuals:

Richard Branson – has developed a leadership style that focuses on the needs of employees, the wishes of customers, and his shareholders. In Richard Branson’s case, he’s established a unique brand which everyone can relate to, “if you take care of your employees, your employees will take care of your customers, and your customers will take care of your shareholders”

Reshma Saujani – Lawyer-turned-activist, is focused on closing the gender gap in the male-dominated tech industry. Her brand is strong, inspirational, and empowering

Elon Musk – Status quo disruptor in multiple industries. He inspires his employees to dream big, work hard and think outside the box

You and I can probably only dream of this kind of influential prowess however their type of brilliance is what has inspired a generational surge in YouTube millionaire youths, Instagram Influencers, and the like.

Are these kids’ experts at the age of 10?

No, but they sure sound like it!

If a 10-year-old can do it, so can you!

Whether it’s a job promotion, CV, job search, interview, career change, social profile, introduction, winning a project, winning the girl/guy of your dreams.

The difference between winning and losing is the personal brand and marketing message you’ve aligned yourself with

I'm not saying you have to be a Richard Branson, Reshma Saujani, or an Elon Musk of this world however they’ve not got to where they are today by sitting quiet, minding their own business.

Every single one of us is in a personal brand/marketing race however have you turned up to your 100m sprint with aerodynamic trainers on clumpy ski boots?

“Ask yourself if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow”

Finding a job doesn’t happen overnight for most and with competition increasing it’s wise to get ahead of the curve and start planning what message you want to send

Gartner reported that 80% of businesses are allowing staff to work from home more permanently so getting recognised in the workplace is going to become more difficult.
