40// Wellness + Health
Bringing in my 4th decade and the intentionality and energy I wanted to call in, after a few years of pandemic, supply chain challenges, the great resignation, climate change natural disasters, and all the other things we have heavily felt these past few years, I began to understand what burnout can truly mean and the importance of sturdy mental wellness practices. A trip to the Functional Medicine doctor helped me understand the internal impact of these years (I mostly live in my brain, and working to better connect to my body) and so began a few months of cleansing, supplement taking and detoxing. I welcomed a trip back to We Care Spa and the green detox drinks and daily colonics in the peaceful desert oasis, and the gratitude of possibility and choice. Some basic reminders that reinforced for me:
1. Water. Refillable Bottle. Filtered. Drink Half Weight in Ounces Daily. Baths with Epsom Salt.
2. Breath. Daily Breath Work, Deep Breathing, Meditation. Move the stale air and thoughts.
3. Nature. Grouding, connect, recharge, part of something bigger.
4. Movement + Sweat. Strong, Lean, Healthy, Energy, toxin release.
5. Clean Eating. Plant Based, Organic, Local. Food Prep - make easier to choose better.
6. Connect. Love, Dialogue, Curiosity, Community. Brain and Body.
