On my 46th birthday, I've learned a lot about life.
I've made mistakes, I've had successes, and I've grown as a person. I'm grateful for all the experiences that have shaped me, and I'm excited to share some of the life lessons I've learned with you.
In this article, you'll find 46 life lessons that I've learned over the years. These lessons are about everything from relationships and careers to self-care and personal growth. I hope that these lessons will inspire you to live your best life and never give up on your dreams!
- You’re not too old to try something new. Age is definitely just a number.
- Half-assed efforts yield half-assed results.
- Holding on to old grievances will get heavy. Let that shit go. You deserve to be happy.
- Everyone is going through something. Be kind.
- Be a woman of your word.
- Say what you mean and mean what you say, even if your voice trembles when you speak.
- Some days, the most adult thing you can manage to do is to eat Doritos for dinner in bed while watching your favorite cartoon and that’s okay!
- You’ll always have regrets in life but you don’t have to live a regretful life.
- You’ll be much happier if you bring your authentic self to the world.
- You can love someone and still walk away if they’re toxic to you. Prioritize taking care of your mental health.
- Investing in yourself is the best investment you’ll ever make.
- There will always be people who’ll belittle you. Don’t be one of those people.
- Your life was never going to turn out the way you’d planned and that's okay!
- There’s always room for improvement.
- Sometimes the best response is no response.
- If you stay silent in the face of injustice, you’re complicit in that injustice.
- There’s ALWAYS something to be grateful for.
- Make your goals your password so you're reminded every time you type them.
- Be your own best friend and act accordingly.
- Just because something didn’t work out as planned doesn’t mean it’s a failure.
- Don’t let others’ small vision crush your BIG goals.
- Don’t yuck someone else’s yum. We all have different preferences and we have to respect that.
- Don’t hide or be ashamed of your age. You’ve earned every second of those years and every one of those grey hairs!
- Spend time with the people you love. Life is short, so make the most of it by spending time with the people you love.
- Take care of yourself. Eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly. Your body and mind will thank you for it.
- Live in the present moment. Don't dwell on the past or worry about the future.
- Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone is on their own unique journey. Focus on your own goals and don't worry about what other people are doing.
- It's okay to say no. You're not obligated to please everyone. It's okay to say no to requests that you don't have time for or that you're not interested in.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help. There's no shame in asking for help when you need it. Your friends, family, and loved ones are there to support you.
- Celebrate your successes. Take the time to celebrate your accomplishments, big or small. You deserve it!
- Don't be afraid to change. Life is constantly changing, and so should you. Don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things.
- Follow your heart. Do what makes you happy and what feels right for you. Don't let anyone else tell you what to do with your life.
- Enjoy the journey. Life is a gift, so cherish it and make the most of it. Live in the present moment and enjoy the ride.
- It's okay to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is to learn from them and move on.
- It's okay to say "I don't know." No one knows everything. It's okay to admit that you don't know something and ask for help.
- It's okay to be wrong. Everyone is wrong sometimes. The important thing is to be willing to admit when you're wrong and learn from your mistakes.
- It's okay to change your mind. It's okay to change your mind about things, even if you've already made a decision. It's better to change your mind than to stick with a decision that you're not happy with.
- It's okay to be happy. It's okay to be happy and enjoy your life. Don't feel guilty about being happy, even if other people are going through tough times.
- It's okay to be sad. It's okay to be sad and feel your emotions. Don't try to bottle up your emotions or pretend that you're not feeling anything.
- It's okay to be angry. It's okay to be angry, but it's important to express your anger in a healthy way. Don't let your anger control you or lead you to do things that you'll regret.
- It's okay to be scared. It's okay to be scared of things. Fear is a normal human emotion. But don't let your fear hold you back from living your life.
- It's okay to be imperfect. Everyone is imperfect. That's what makes us human. Don't try to be perfect, because you'll never be able to achieve it. Just be yourself and accept your imperfections.
- It's okay to be alone and enjoy your own company.
- It's okay to be yourself and not try to be someone you're not. People will love you for who you are, not who you pretend to be.
- Don't let the fear of failure hold you back from pursuing your dreams.
- Don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.
