5 Commandments For Peace, Predictability, and Profits In Your Business
Below are the 5 commandments you must follow to create more peace, predictability, and PROFITS in your business. Through this, you'll also take back the most precious commodity: your time.
No one wants to be in a business (or personal) relationship with someone who doesn't respect their time. You would NEVER respect someone who is constantly rescheduling or pushing back appointments, canceling last minute, or not showing up at all. Right?
Though, as business owners, we do this to ourselves. All. The. Time.
Yet, we wonder why we aren't getting the results we desire. We wonder why things are taking longer to accomplish. We wonder why we aren't profitable.
We need to respect our time more. Here's how we do that:
#1: Keep your commitments to yourself
This is the first and most important step, because without it, none of the below steps matter. Treat appointments with yourself the same way you'd treat an appointment with a client, a prospect, or a team member.
#2: Get clear on what you (and ONLY you) can do as the CEO
If you are focusing on more than 10 things right now that “only you” can do, you're likely understaffed and working on tasks below your pay grade. Your job as the CEO is to staff your business appropriately, enroll your team in your vision, and effectively lead them to the goal. Do your due diligence on coaching, training and supporting your team in pulling things off your calendar that don't align with that.

#3: Automate, delegate, or delete what you don't need to be spending time on
Make sure that what you ARE spending time on, is aligned with your desired outcome. Are there systems or tools that can streamline your current processes? Is there a task that someone on your team can do faster, better, and easier than you can? If you are still doing operational tasks, set dedicated time for it, so it doesn't end up getting done after hours or on weekends.
#4: Structure your calendar into recurring time blocks
Find a tool that will keep you organized and focused. The only tool I use that I carry with me 24/7 is my Unstoppable Planner, which will be available for 2023 this fall (join the waitlist here). My second tool? Google calendar. Keep it simple!
#5: Focus on doing BETTER, not doing more
It's not about working more hours, it's about what you do in the time that you have. Increase productivity during your working hours, so that you're not working 14-hour days. That kind of schedule ultimately leads to burnout and breakdown (this also applies for your team). Identify where you're procrastinating, or avoiding taking action, and uncover why you keep avoiding it. Do you lack the knowledge or tools needed to execute? Are you holding back out of fear? If so, invest in the education, mentorship, or tools to learn how to take effective action (because they're likely the things that'll actually move the needle).
